Exactly. Every poll needs to have as its FIRST question: "Where do you get your information?" Then lead with that information in every analysis. FWIW, I ignore them all. Working hard to get Biden re-elected no matter what.

Am I more likely to believe Quinnipiac, which seeks to be objective, or NBC, which claims to have a news department and doesn't?

Polls and pollsters make me crazy. What polls do is make concerned citizens even more frightened while making djt and his crowd of criminals appear more inevitable as "winners". I have to wonder who is sponsoring the polls, what are the questions being asked, who are the pollsters asking and where are they located. What is needed by NBC and others is decent reporting on what is at stake for this democracy. Instead of polls we need reporting that connects the dots between the gop, djt, and right wing extremism, aka fascism. The goal of maga and the gop is the end of democracy. NBC and their polls do not help further the struggle we have now to defend democracy from djt and his criminal crowd.

I always ask myself who are the pollsters asking? It isn't anyone like me or people who are aware of the real world!

2 points. Polls are not votes, they’re responses to questions the responders are not intelligent enough to answer. And secondly, our information sources are widely owned by billionaires interested in designing the world they want based on how they fulfill the script they write for the evening news

Journalism exists only on the fringes of distribution. The masses are fed a pre-determined babble of National Enquirer birdcage liner

When I look at the level of intelligence -- I mean, stupidity -- when maggots are asked questions, I'm unfortunately not completely surprised. These people are IDIOTS. And they have the right to control MY LIFE! GRRR

Quite honestly - polls are BS - exactly WHO is the audience any of these polls is aiming at?

I dont care how anyone rates djt - he doesnt matter!

I dont watch the news if the "pollsters" come on to tell which percentage of people like this or that.

I dont care! Its just another way to fill the so-called news programs.

You wrote:

"I wish the poll would have included a question for the respondents, asking them what they considered their main source of news. I suspect the Mighty Wurlizter of Inadequates Inc. has been playing loudly 24/7 for many of them."

That would certainly have helped a lot.

This poll looks like the pollsters were passing out peyote, or some other hallucinogenic.

"The Mighty Wurlitzer of Inadequates Inc." is such a wonderful turn of phrase! "Wurlitzer" is particularly evocative. It would probably be a good name for a dog.

This poll is a total baffle---what is clear is that NBC is trumpeting the results loudly, which is disastrous. Polls are problematic today---especially if you don't know HOW the poll was conducted (by phone?---where to the people live; phone numbers no longer reveal that, believe it or not :-) :-) . BUT, one has also to take into account the long long process of very very effective brainwashing of the american public by the GOP and other malicious actors with the goal of convincing people that America is in very bad shape, Democrats are incapable of governing, etc etc. If you repeat a lie often enough, people begin to believe it.........

The Louts in Texas believe it. A lot of the people in red states believe it. And it’s not just red states. The threat is real, it will take every ounce of energy we’ve got, (and maybe a billionaire or two).

A 1,000 people polled ? When I did voter registration in the late 90's some days I had 95% democrats or 'decline to state ' & some days The Repugs were filing higher. I told the R's they had to deliver their own paperwork, & I took the Dems registrations back to the office. Each day was a different slice of the pie. In 2020 I was concerned about cyber meddling with the votes & Chris Krebs { ? name} came out & said it was a secure election & the orange menace fired him immediately. I hope that holds true for the 2024 cycle & that his fellow cybersecurity people are still at work & protecting us from Russia, China, & the US players using tech to pirate the numbers if all the disinformation & propaganda aren't already enough. Thinking the polls may work in our favor & they'll feel less proactive in all forms of sabotage. I feel confident until I reflect back on 2020's shocking result, gerrymandering, the electoral college,& voter suppression - all being the reasons many college students felt it didn't matter if they voted. It's a steep hill to climb . May the good people outshine all the stupidity & evil.

Repubs tried to steal the win in 2020. That should be no surprise and should be reason never to vote Republican again. But they have reframed to a fare there well, and propaganda reinforces the garbage every hour of every day. And it’s not just Fox anymore. Putin loves chump more than the most rabid MAGAt

I believe you are operating from an unproven assumption - I see no evidence these people are thinking, or even watching or reading any sort of reasonably reliable news..... And if the Orange Menace is returned to office, they will be the first to scream at what happens and the loudest. Almost all polls this far out are junk anyway, and tend to be biased toward older voters who answer the phone. I have already donated as much to Smokin' Joe as I am allowed this year, so we live in hope.

It's just click bait as far as I am concerned...for ratings. Kornacki almost did cartwheels to spin the SC results and, of course, we can ALWAYS rely on the NYT to explain how wins are actually losses, if we could just adjust our glasses upside down.
