Frankly, I think she mopped the stage with him. And BTW, I hope you got through your colonoscopy with flying colors. (Come to think of it, I think Harris gave Trump one of those tonight, on prime time TV for all to see no less!)

My thought as well. Couldn't tell if he was sedated. Coming awake after a colonoscopy can be lucid for some who don't take well to sedatives.

My cat still spasses out quite often - I'm very seldom sure WHY! And she nailed me with her takeoff yet again tonight! Maybe because shes black (well that doesnt sound right) but thinking back, I dont think I've had a black cat since I was a kid. And Smurf definitely IS "different"!

Have had several black cats. They all think/thought that they were the chosen Egyptian idols (even the one who was thrown away in a paper bag at two weeks). The one I currently have lets me rule with her permission

I dont know and havent figured out her issues. I'll have had her 2 years in November - shes much, well, calmer, isnt exactly right but she does lap and comes in at night for a few minutes on the bed - but these spazzes? Most of the time I have no clue as to why - just out of a clear blue sky.

BUT she doesnt bother Pookie (bird)! On the other hand, Axel (dog) gets very concerned when she wants to be lovey dovey.

Nice to NOT think about the orange faced looney tunes for a moment!

I think that was the moment when my laughter could have been heard all over this town. I had no shoe-throwing inclinations last night, I was just enjoying watching her take down the stupidest con artist of all time...and done with a smile and a calm, controlled voice. It was the ultimate take down for a bully. A small, lovely woman with a sweet smile and a bite to her words. Delicious.

As Susan Glasser put it in the New Yorker, "who knew that a petite woman in a pants suit could deliver a knockout blow to a six foot opponent with a hundred pounds on her?"

Or as Mike Tyson famously said, "Everybody's got a plan till you get punched in the face."

She was calm, passionate, and articulate. He was yelling “I know you are, but what am I” the whole time.

I watched five or 10 minutes of the commentary afterward on ABC and here’s what really bothered me. They talked about Harris in terms of how she responded to Trump and how she got under Trump’s skin, so her performance was rated through a Trumpian filter and not on her own merits. Pretty annoyed by that.

(Hope your test results were good today Tom!)

So far it's mostly in her favor, but they include mistakes like saying he didn't call her the border czar (he did) and other smaller things like that, quite a lot of sanewashing of his more fractured statements or when he actually says the opposite of what he means but people seem to "hear" what they think he means, and his campaign spokesmen are pushing hard on the line "it was like it was three on one" because that's going to be their excuse for the moderators' correcting 45 several times and not having to correct Kamala: Because they were against him, of course!

Meanwhile plenty of Harris supporters are criticizing the moderators for not cutting Trump off enough. This suggests to me that they did a pretty good job under very trying circumstances.

Well - it wont change minds of the base but they wouldnt likely watch it anyhow. Someone whose mind wasnt made up? Honestly I just cant comprehend anyone whose mind wasnt made up by this time. Harris did her job - she got him wound up - which actually didnt take much.

I had to turn it off for some minutes toward the end. I could not take his BS any longer. I felt pleasantly surprised by the moderators but somehow his mic seemed to be on more often than her's.At any rate she is coherent and knows her stuff. She got under his skin. It astounds me that somewhere around 35% are considered his supporters! My hope is her steady, direct presentation brought voters to her side. My guess is at one level the successful colonoscopy was easier going than dealing with all the lies the orange cheato was throwing at the viewers. Deep breath. And a little Scotch!😉

True, to your ears. Not true to everyone's ears. It is like those ads before the nominations when down ticket Ds tried to point out how seriously bad some of the R nominees were, and the nominee would thank them for the extra air time because their voters actually liked the far right positions they took. I would prefer for the two presidential candidates to have had a fair shot at equal air time.

At some point I think we need to stop worrying about the racists, the misogynists, and the deep-rooted ignorant, at least in the short term. They're not going to be swayed in the less than two months before the election, and pandering to them is going to undercut the Democratic message.
