I watched five or 10 minutes of the commentary afterward on ABC and here’s what really bothered me. They talked about Harris in terms of how she responded to Trump and how she got under Trump’s skin, so her performance was rated through a Trumpian filter and not on her own merits. Pretty annoyed by that.
So far it's mostly in her favor, but they include mistakes like saying he didn't call her the border czar (he did) and other smaller things like that, quite a lot of sanewashing of his more fractured statements or when he actually says the opposite of what he means but people seem to "hear" what they think he means, and his campaign spokesmen are pushing hard on the line "it was like it was three on one" because that's going to be their excuse for the moderators' correcting 45 several times and not having to correct Kamala: Because they were against him, of course!
Meanwhile plenty of Harris supporters are criticizing the moderators for not cutting Trump off enough. This suggests to me that they did a pretty good job under very trying circumstances.

(Hope your test results were good today Tom!)
I went looking for post-debate commentary, couldn't find any fast enough, and gave up. On the whole I'm glad. I'll get my post-mortems in the morning.
