You are quoting the New York Post. Lordy are they pulling out all stops to pull votes away from Joe? Well of course they are. A third party spoiler and his vp pick are doing their best to help chump. Makes me furious that ex-Dems are as stupid as cult nuts. I know he’s a damaged soul, but he can afford treatment, unlike the millions he will screw with his bullschittery. She is beyond any help that therapy has to offer. No cure for stupid.

I wonder who convinced RFKjr that he packed the gear to be president and that he had a real chance of winning. I'm confident it was a series of moneyed right wing jackals sent to his doorstep one after another to create the illusion of groundswell. Add him and Shanahan to Jill Stein from the Greens, and it's clear to me that the GOP is throwing everything and everyone into the mix to draw off votes. (Two weeks ago Stein tried to get our young, dynamic mayor to be her running mate, but he is too young to qualify. He is of Arab descent, has been vocal about the plight of the Palestinian civilians, and has made the national news which is likely where some operative saw a chance to pull away even more votes from Joe here in swing state Michigan by capitalizing on our large Arab population's protests against Biden helping Netanyahu.)

RFK Jr, b eing a legend and genius in his own mind, told his own self he was preswident timber - given he's blockhead, that's true.

I think there's a big dose of magical thinking on both of their parts.

"...a legend in his own mind..." HILARIOUS!!! Actually, the whole comment is hilarious!

The right wing nuts have long had a cadre of thinkers and planners, ALEC, The Heritage Society, and think tanks that have no name, just an agenda. And they have the money. Sort of like they think Soros funds every liberal cause. They have “thinkers” and “doers” (Roger Stone types, Christopher Rofo) who are, as we post, scanning every Dem action looking for ways to weaponize (from Al Frankin’s innocent joke to CRT to DEI, etc). RFKJ had flashing lights on saying, I have Dem credentials and I’m nuts, use me. No mystery.

Just got called by the Gallup Poll people whose questions were about Biden, Trump, Harris and RFKjr, but no mention of Shanahan. They had many questions about immigration, a few about the economy, Biden and Trump's ages and leadership suitabilities, and my level of confidence in a list of our institutions. No questions about the cost of daily consumables, crime rates, the environment, or climate change. Interestingly, the pollster did ask about my approval or disapproval of Putin and Zelensky, but nothing about Xi, Kim, Orban, or Netanyahu.

I'm interested to hear you got called. You are the first person I have heard say they have been called for one of these "major source" polls. I had begun to suspect they were making answers up in a back office over donuts and coffee. I bet you were an experience for them!

Best argument this week for 100% inheritance tax

Expand full comment

Easy to say but in the early ‘90’s it decimated small family businesses bought out out by investment firms. Most inheritance taxes for the wealthy are already shielded from inheritance tax.

Yes, 90% of inheritances are for less than around $10 million. It's the other 10% that needs to be taxed by at least 60% to destroy the enemies of the rest of us.

Yes, Florida leads as a billionaire enabler with legislation passed under current admin that allowed private trust companies (Waltons,Bezos et al) to shield their assets. So they move to Fl ,buy ginormous homes and contribute to the increased cost of housing for those with small businesses.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

TC….I will be laughing all day at your FactChecks and review of Airhead’s Fox in depth, shallow as f*ck interview. I’ve been wondering when someone was going to hypothesize the effects of her drug days. Obv rerouted some brain cells.

And RFK? Saw a piece on Colbert the other night where he’s on his deck with a raven in background and talking about his affinity with the birds and he will have those raven eating out of his hand by end of summer. What an idiot. The bird was trying to position itself to peck the deck intruder a good one. Hahahahahaha!

Love and Light, TC. You are the best.

Salud!

(By the way…have you watched Ava DuVernay’s movie Origin yet? Based on Isabel Wilkerson’s book Caste.)

Thanks, Tom for a humorous take on a pair of bimbos who think they are "perfection itself" for the White House. I'm so grateful that Robert Francis Kennedy, brilliant man that he was, is not with us to be shamed by this loose cannon son of his. My empathy and gratitude top the REAL Kennedy family to find the courage to refute rfk jr.

Has no one ever told the Schmuck and Schmuckette that ALL the food we eat is GMO.....? Much of it was modified by selective breeding rather than lab work, but it all has been modified to some extent. Most people would not eat the original natural forms of much of our food, but past work in changing said food has made it more palatable, in some cases more nutritious, and more resistant to weather, poor irrigation, insects and pests, weeds, etc. Ah well..... As an aside, early polls indicate that the Baron will pull more votes from the Orange Rind than from Smokin' Joe - pray that it is so.....

"Barron Ivermectin Von Brainworm"!!! Where do you come up with this hilarious stuff?!

"Baron von Brainworm praised her as “a lawyer, brilliant scientist, and a fierce warrior mom”"

"Warrior" is one of the most overused words in the language. And more generally, she sounds lame to me.

yet ANOTHER BTW...

has anyone else noticed that the brilliant writers of copy for the Newsreaders (including those with fancy degrees and their own shows) have entirely removed the original meaning of what "begging the question" means? I know there's a Greek rhetorical term for this phenomenon (there seems to be a Greek rhetorical term for everything), but I'm not gonna start looking things up at this late hour. now it means nothing more than "begging for a response to a question." how fucking pathetic is this?
