Jackson's dissent is a beaut, and you KNOW she wanted to mention InJustices Thomas and Alito. I also was reminded: We never did find out who paid Barf Kavanaugh's credit card bills.

My thinking is that it was Lenny Leo, or a big donor he knows through the Federalist Society.

God bless Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. May she have a Court some day that is not corrupt.

She's a superb Justice. Biden made a terrific contribution to the Court! I feel like I should write her and let her know I'm grateful that she's on the Court.

Once again the court plays fast and loose with inconvenient facts: Kavanaugh thinks of gratuities as "gift cards, lunches, plaques, books, framed photos, and the like"--with the "like" being 13K paid by a company who got a goodie where the company denied there was any "consulting" done for it. Join the Bremerton Coach, Creative 303, Dobbs, and Bump stocks. And while it is nice to see actual attention paid to standing, it is being used by this court to kick the can down the road till "nicer" facts occur. This is clearly the Extreme Court, Delay Division.

What a surprise coming from a court without ethics. Corruption breeds corruption. I would like to remove 3 of the female judges not appointed by trump from my above statement.

It was inevitable. Had they found Mayor Snyder guilty, which he was, they'd have opened up potential actions against Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch at the very least as well as much of the Congress in both parties.

Melissa Matheson presented an interesting analysis today on Deadline Whitehouse, that the court is aware of its unpopularity and concerned that will drive votes to put the people who see the court as it is now as "trhe enemy" in office, so they are coming up with "decisions" like this to bamboozle voters in November that they aren't really as bad as they are. She also pointed out that there is a similar issue in a decision out of the Fifth Circuit upholding the state ban on abortion banning emergency services, which they have picked up for the next session, which they can they decide after the election that sees TFPOS (that fucking piece of shit) victorious.

I’m sure she’s right. Another one is their ruling on the mifepristone case, allowing it to stay on the market, but only because the group challenging its use didn’t have standing to sue. I’m sure after the election someone else will come along that they decide does have standing and they can rule that it be banned.

Social media and the Supreme Court are totally out of hand. I was in the habit of posting my Rants to Facebook. Of all my rants the most innocuous was one titled "I Have and Advantage" in which I summarized each of the 7 Articles and 25 Amendments (yes there are 27 but 21 just revokes 18 (Prohibition) so they don't count) I did this because many people don't have time or access to the Constitution so I thought by just explaining the "high points" it would give a better understanding to people. I posted on Facebook so my relatives - and a few friends might read them too.

But of all my rants - and some are really off the wall - the only one taken off immediately was that condensed version of the Constitution. So, the Constitution is subversive in the eyes of Facebook? Or maybe they didn't like the title? Whatever, I no longer post anything.

Both FB and Twit banned me almost four years ago for saying that chump was a wannabe dictator using Goebbels propaganda methods to lure more cult worshippers. It was not just conservatives who can claim to have been dumped. They didn’t like Dems, even before our MSM decided to lean right.

The SCOTUS' Publishing Unit mistakenly outed SCOTUS' Opinion on U.S. v. Idaho. This is the "emergency abortion" case where an Idaho woman suffered a miscarriage, The fetus was stillborn. The patient lost her child bearing ability to conceive FULL STOP.

Bloomberg Law has the not yet final Opinion under the author & Senior Editor, KIMBERLY STRAWBRIDGE ROBINSON.

Bloomberg's Headline: "Supreme Court Poised to ALLOW (emphasis added) 'Emergency Abortions."

I assume this means, in part IDAHO Doctor's are released from any "stay" & are able to treat their Patients & their Families.

SCOTUS is remanding the case to the Trial court so it may take many months perhaps more than a year,to create a Trial Record.

Safe for Now.

Thank you Bryan. I work at OHSU in Portland. They have declared full access to abortion healthcare for women from restrictive states. Yay for California, Washington and Oregon for being sanctuary states for reproductive healthcare.

how many gift cards he

cashed in to pay his debts.

I actually yelled YES! reading

The corruption of this Court defies adjectives. The cons are so in favor of corrupt officials. It has to be more than covering for Thomas and Alito. Are they just hoping to so erode respect for government in general that it paves the way for a fascist take over? I know that sounds like conspiracy nonsense but they really don’t seem to be on board with a government that represents the interests of anyone other than the rich.

I've been expecting them to have something really attention grabbing up their gown sleeves to toss to the press the day after the debate if it is clearly, obviously enough so even MAGAts can't deny it, a disaster for 45 to shorten the time the press has to devote undivided attention to the debate.

I'm surprised they didn't hold these for that, but maybe they're working in reverse of what I expect and using the debate to divide attention away from themselves on these "lesser cases"? But, really? So long as you take the bribe after you gift the benefit or hand over the goods rather than before, it's not a bribe?

Most everyone is expecting the immunity decision on Friday, with the timing being to overwhelm whatever tomorrow night does, to save Trump. And anyone who thinks they aren't going to find a way to divide immunity between "official" and "non-official" acts and toss it back to the courts to decide (and buy Trump more time to win the election so he can kill the cases) needs to explain why they still believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy.

What garbage. Just like one of their own to save Alito & Thomas' butts. I read in some comments somewhere this morning that the the Supreme Court "opinion issuing days" and Presidential "debates" are nothing more than kabuki theater....I beginning to slide around to that opinion, myself

If the Dems can take back the House and keep the Senate and Presidency, their priorities are in bold print: fix the SC, make reproductive rights the law of the land, deal with Putin's disinformation trollers so reality cannot die before our eyes, reform campaign finance laws so as to effectively eliminate Citizens United, and plug the holes in government that have allowed religious groups to seep in and overtake democracy.
