Just watched Episode 1 of “Gaslit”. Julia Roberts as Martha Mitchell, Sean Penn as John Mitchell, the story of Watergate, told from the inside. Shea Whigham plays G. Gordon Liddy as crazy as he really was. Everybody’s really good, the writing and directing is good. I really like it.
“A modern take on the 1970s political Watergate scandal centering on untold stories and forgotten characters of the time.”
On Starz. You can catch Episodes 1 and 2 Sunday evening.
You’re going to be really upset if you don’t.
UPDATE (SUNDAY NIGHT): the show is based on my friend Rick Perlstein’s book “Nixonland,” the second book of his trilogy on the Rise of the Right, and the best overall account of Nixon/Watergate. So they got the best story. And then he is an Associate Producer on the project, which means he has Input. This is why the show is so good.
Our mutual friend Fern on LFAA was wondering what your thoughts were on Pat Cole's experience in unionizing carriers he spoke to on today's April 30, 2022, LFAA. Not a lot of traction and too wondered about your take.
Thanks for the tip—I had read about Gaslit.
