I work with a skinny good ol' boy from Arkansas that wears a cowboy hat and a big belt buckle wherever he goes, and is the nicest man you could possibly meet. His best friend in the Navy was black, and he said that his buddy used to take him to social hangouts where he wasn't very comfortable, but it always interesting and educational. When he gets home from a hard day at work, he fires up the XBox to play video games with his adult daughter, and that's just the best thing in the world to him. One of our clients once asked me if I could give him her number within 30min of meeting the guy. She was too weak in the knees to do it herself.
He's an empathetic, compassionate, sweetheart of a guy, which is why he chose to stay here in California. ;)
