Before I climb into my nest of despair, does anyone know if, in the nearly 80 years since THE bombs were dropped on Japan, the U.S. has secretly supported another Manhattan Project, but not to design H and other alphabet bombs. so much as to create mechanisms to override and guide the enemy's airborne bombs so there is a predictable and "safe" consequence like explodes north of Uranus?

TC will know details but they pretty much reduced military money for the SDI ( Reagan's so- called Star Wars project). It scares me to think we might take nuclear war into space with no idea of consequences-- intended or not. But before you climb into your nest of despair just remember that if P is crazy enough to start spewing radiation in Ukraine he will be killing his own people too. That may be the only deterrent, in my mind. I hope we will hear more from TC on this topic.
