From The Daily newsletter over at PolitcusUSA: I am a lifelong Pennsylvanian. I have seen parts of this state thrive, decline, and be reborn. There are also parts that declined, fell under Republican control, and have never rebounded in more than four decades. Pennsylvania is a large state made up of several political dynamics that all must be successfully juggled for a candidate to win statewide.
Busting our grassroots “collective asses” is exactly correct TC. So it goes as it goes.
I still marvel at what the Substack authors and communities have done to dent the pernicious news cycle of mainstream media. Keep on. And may all readers subscribe. Pennies well spent make the most difference in the economy.
This is an occasion to not campaign like we're 10 points down, but 10 points UP. I would like to see Pennsylvania start the rout we all want in the Presidential election, and make sure Sen. Bob Casey is re-elected. No complacency, but we have the winning message. Swipe a few votes in central PA, win the big-city suburbs (with abortion as an issue, very possible) and the state is ours.
As you may know, I was born and raised in Beaver County, West Pennsylvania, home of J&L Steel. I've moved back about 15 years ago, and working hard to build the Justice Dems. We had a nice victory for Summer Lee in our Blue Zone. But now we have to tip our purple zones so we can get 5!% majorities (at least) and build up our minorities in the red zone counties. They matter too. It's a tough fight, but we have some good signs, such as the GOP vote for Nikki.
