Unfortunately, I know someone who does believe this. And I was stunned. My aunt’s 80 year old friend who struck up a friendship with me on FB. She seemed like a normal person. A southern Christian lady, so we didn’t have a lot in common, but she was a friend of my aunt and seemed nice.

Today she commented on a post I made about trumps absurd claim. She posted “I’ve heard there are illegals eating pet cats! It’s a fact! “ I answered her that it was a lie and there’s no evidence supporting it.

She emailed me privately a very loooong letter about how she loves Trump because he donated his president salary to good causes and she hopes I’m not mad at her for liking Trump. Well, I kind of am! I’m pissed that she’s posting this shit without a second thought and it’s the gift that keeps on giving in reposts! So maybe I will send her TC’s newsletter so she will see what happens when shit like this goes viral because of people like her posting Willy nilly.

Also having a listen to this disturbing report. https://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2024/09/11/trump-eastern-kentucky

y'see, I've become a total hardass about this kind of thing. I've fired a few old friends for supporting TFF and if I found that, say, a doctor of mine was also a supporter, I'd fire his ass too. I actually did fire a Russian podiatrist for telling me that Putin was a great leader for Russia, the same way TFF was for here ("he is the greatest president ever," etc. and Obama was the worst. I asked him he thought Obama was worse than, say Buchanan or Johnson and he said he didn't know them and why should he and I told him that his statement indicated a level of knowledge he did not possess, etc. I developed an immediate and advanced stage of "fuck this Russian scumbag."

it was also a lot easier to fire his ass because he was also a shitty podiatrist. bad bedside manner. when I asked him what the source of these painful calluses were, he told me it was "a deformation of the bone." it seemed to me there were nicer ways of putting it, especially since said "deformation" turns out to be a common complaint among folks my age.

I understand. I have a friend who drops conspiracy bombs out of the blue. It’s awful. I only see her during the summer. She didn’t make to the lake this year and it’s been a relief.
