I snuck a peek at my email about 9:00 last night as we were counting and preparing the report from our vote center in LA County and saw THERE IS NO RED WAVE and thought 🎉. This morning, as I'm avoiding standing on my throbbingly sore feet and ankles, I read the post and feel 🤗. Our center was in the auditorium of a school, and teachers brought their students for mini-tours throughout out the morning. They were electing their student council, using iPads to tabulate. It made my heart go pitter patter because we did that at the last school I taught at. (Ooops, not a well-structured sentence for a teacher.) Parents brought their kids with them to vote; a BUNCH of first-time voters 🤸♀️; many voters from the predominantly immigrant neighborhood. All in all, a good day for democracy.
