Her CD (NY-21) is only R + 4. If she gets confirmed there will be a special election to replace her with an open seat. If control of the House is very close, a shift to D would have huge implications. At this time House control is still in doubt as west coast races get counted; there's a long but not-zero chance D's may get control out of the gate, and there's no way Hakeem Jeffries is going to go along with Trump's plans, as detailed here.
