Why would anyone ever ask if Trump would do anything? If it benefits him or gives him one jot of satisfaction he'd do it no matter how many it hurt no matter how badly. Others aren't a puff of dandelion fluff in his world. If they don't agree to recess for a short while he'll recess them for good, and I am certain he'll be happy to tell them so to their faces.

Either they bow to his demands to the extent of approving the worst picks he can dig up, or they recess so he has supreme power flagrantly apparent in his ability to nominate the worst picks, or he sends them all home to suck their thumbs until they are properly chastised. Win, win, win. In that scheme of things, the worse they are the more obvious his power no matter which way it goes.
