According to the Iowa Secretary of StateтАЩs website, there are 590,000 active Republicans in Iowa. 100,000 came out to vote and the manbaby bigot got half those votes. Even with the snow and cold, that is no landslide for tfg.
the edition I had delivered this morning seems to have changed it. mine reads "T**** Wins Iowa In Key First Step Toward Rematch." but it gets much worse when you turn it over and look at the Op Ed page, where you get "The Appeal of an All-American Strongman." the writer (one of their miserable "columnists" Zenep Tufnecki). maybe I'm just blaming the messenger (I'm trying to be fair), but it's arguably one of the two or three most nauseating things I've ever read on that particular daily minefield.
That columnist spent most of COVID explaining everything that Dr. Fauci and company were getting wrong. When Leana Wen did that sort of thing in the WaPo, I couldn't help thinking she wanted Fauci's job. In this case, it's the worst kind of academic, and I say that as an academic: One with no conception of the world beyond.
I had a similar thought. I wonder where his parents are from. Hungary, maybe? there's a "from hunger" joke in there but I've seriously dug every Hungarian I've ever met.
yes, you're right. I used to spend some ultra-happy lunch hours in a shady mental health clinic with a Turkish woman. she introduced me to a whole bunch of others. they were all gorgeous. I mentioned this to her and she said "yeah, in Turkey you have beautiful women and ugly men. in Greece, it's the other way around."
I betcha the NYT fool (no, I will not look up the spelling again because he ain't worth it) is Turkish.
For the second time in three weeks, the NYTimes Editorial Board has published a full-throated condemnation of Trump and a call to action to Republican voters. See NYTimes Editorial Board, The Responsibility of Republican Voters.тАЭ

Also, Iowa republicans had to choose between a treasonous bigot, a treasonous bigot, and a treasonous bigot. They chose the treasonous bigot.
They sure did.
In that order.
LOL

"Trump Scores Record Win in Iowa," says the official publication of those committed to treason, The New York Times.
F the NYT. Their тАЬwarningтАЭ about Trump last week is rope a dope. Their intent is clear. Karma on them from a Trump Dictatorship
What is wrong with them?

Well, what would you become if your parents and out-done naming you "Sue" and gone with "Zenep Tufnecki"??? :-)
That would have been a great Shel Silverstein song, too.

I don't know the guy at all, but the name is reminiscent of Turkish names I saw in Istanbul back in the late 90s......
