“The filing, which was written by an unidentified FBI agent “trained in counterintelligence and espionage,” states agents suspected Trump of hiding intelligence information relating to signals collection, human sources, and other top secret information.

Signals collection and human sources are The Most Secret of our Secrets.”

TC, Would this include Moles, ( foreign Military and intelligence officers), our spies inside places like the Kremlin?

I can’t shake the scene in the Coen brothers’ Burn After Reading where Brad Pitt is trying to sell his “intel”. The image of T trying to read hundreds of pages of documents for the “good stuff” is the only thing that may save us from utter catastrophe.

WoweeoWow Batman. Pray for the safety of all our "human sources." Can U.S. President Benedict Arnold face a firing squad?

Arnold was a brilliant strategist who had sacrificed a great deal for the war effort. So not at all like DJT.

Mary Pat, I live on the property where BA’s headquarters while he oversaw West Point were - and where he was found out. He was a fascinating man, who cared deeply about the cause, was a naval hero, was gravely wounded and was not rewarded the same way as more socially acceptable generals were. Not an excuse, but as with people like Ho Chi Mihn and others, his maltreatment by people of inferior minds molded his resentment. Great story. Tragic outcome.

Well then, I meant to offense to Benidict Arnold.

What evidence may arise indicating that there remain documents and records yet unaccounted for? If video tapes document the transport of boxes in and out of the known storage room, where else might presidential records be hidden? Just speculation on my part, but there may be more chapters to this sordid tale.

You just might get it all

And then some you don't want.

TFG just got some he didn't want.

It amazes me the number of people who think 300 documents means 300 pages. Those 300 documents encompass nearly 1000 pages. 1000 pages is two reams of paper. Go get two unopened packages of paper, stack them on top of each other, pick them up and see how heavy they are, and then think about how much information is printed on those pages. How many lives have been jeopardized, how many intelligence gathering methods have been compromised, and how much damage has been caused that regular folks like us can't even imagine?

This infuriates me.

The Republican party has turned into a cult of garbage. There is absolutely no way to vote Republican unless your moral and ethical compasses are completely subsumed to cognitive dissonance and the sunk cost fallacy.

Yes Penfist. My message to (non-MAGAt) Republican friends today (after Joe Biden gave them a "mainstream" out):

"Mainstream Republicans believe in democracy. This year that means we vote for Democrats."

I hope enough of the mainstream Republicans do believe in preserving the idea of democracy to vote against fascism and turning America into a full blown cult of personality.

I hope you’re right. That one day soon this monster’s head will be proverbially cut off. If I were a religious person, I would be praying for those people we put at risk by allowing this FPOTUS the privileges accorded to normal FPOTUSes: to pack up and leave his WH home with unexamined boxes. My imagination isn’t up to the job of thinking what this scheming person is capable of doing, or worse: has done. ❤️🤍💙

Something keeps niggling at the suspicious side of my brain that wonders what will stand as SOP in future administrations, especially when it is the opposition party (say in Biden's second term). Do you suspect that much of this ludicrous behavior and precedent that Trump and his neo-Conservative cult are creating are the kind of guardrails, tested almost daily in the public eye, for what will never be allowed under any other administration? The level of obvious ignoring of standards, norms, and written rules for government officials are getting regularly played out with what I can expect will be applied as inappropriate as "President Biden is doing exactly what was complained about by Democrats when Trump did," say, write and Executive Order or spoke in private with Macron or his son was stealing documents all along. Comparisons being created that have scant but some element of similarity with the right twist?

My opinion: Future administrations will need to codify, in writing, expected (legal) behavior in much greater detail than has been done in the past. What a pain in the neck!

I call what has to be done "The Trump Laws" - codify all the behavior that was just assumed that serious people would naturally engage in.

Such as laws to enforce the Constitution’s emoluments clause? I’m so surprised such a bill hadn’t been introduced yet.

Bob, not only that, but someone or some thing will have to ensure the laws are being followed. Even if laws prohibiting the behaviors tfg engaged in were on the books, we already know he ignored all laws because they didn't pertain to him. The problem may have partially been there were no laws governing his unbelievable behavior, but in this case it is the man who is the problem.

A perfect end to the never ending week. The REDACTED AFFIDAVIT represents the first time that I felt this government was going to get 'Him". When he was elected, I was sure that the creepyconlyingclown would show his dirty hands right away and dragged to 'SUPERMAX' Prison. What a fool was I! This mountain of detritus had gotten away with very close to everything he had done before. The biggest lesson I learned in the last six and half years is how corrupt and ineffectual our government is -- including many state governments. I was very critical before DJT, but the degree to which our RULE of LAW favors the rich and FOSSIL FUEL businesses rule of roost..! That's it; I don't want to spoil my night. Thank you, TC, for this clear, concise and to the point report about the best news in how long? Cheers to all!

remember when I commented, a day or so after the FBI search, that it was smart to go after THIS because it was the lowest-hanging fruit? I'm obviously gonna double down on that. and now, to belabor the metaphor, the lowest hanging fruit is bound to have the sweetest and most abundant juice. and it's lovely to watch the Repubs scatter like a bunch of roaches when you suddenly turn on the light. just lovely. the best any of them have done is TFF himself, in his "veiled" threat to Garland. it reminded me of the great scene in "Kiss of Death" when Udo tells Nick about all the "fun" he's planning on having with Nick's wife and kids. I grew up a couple of miles from TFF and I KNOW we watched the same television, simply because there wasn't that much to watch in the fifties. so we know the same old movies and are conversant with the same "noir" (a designation I tend to resist, since no one knew they were making "film noir" until the guys in Paris told them they had been) cliches. and again, quoting Tommy Udo: "We're gonna have lots of fun..."

I'm trying to figure out how fpotus got possession of the documents to begin with. How many classified documents are left in the President's possession on a daily basis? I would think that they would be removed by the person who brought them in before they left the room.
