According to an NBC News Poll released on Monday, August 22, the Number One Issue in the minds of American voters is.... (Drumroll) Threats. To. Democracy. That’s it! Number 1 issue! THREATS. TO. DEMOCRACY. According to the poll, 21% of voters consider the threat by the Republican Party to democracy in America is Issue Number One.

I think back to the days leading up to Barack Obama’s showing in the 2008 general election. When he became President of the United States.
It WAS all about enthusiasm. Haven’t seen that since then.
Until now. Voting in FL primary just ended. Regardless of results, people at our watch party tonight have our eyes forward and we have not been this enthusiastic about our cause in many a moon.
I think the Stench Bench WOKE up America with its religious-motivated decision to overturn Roe v Wade followed by Thomas's promise to gut the rest of the rights we have enjoyed for the past decades. Add to that the "platform" put forth by the GOP and now the news that literally HUNDREDS of classified documents were stolen and hidden away at spy central Mar a Lago...it's no wonder that normal, smart, and truly patriotic Americans are finally paying attention to the state of the union and realizing that one party wants to end it all.

I laughed when I read a report in The Hill that McConnell believes democracy is okay and that the poll was the result of people's concerns about January 6. DUH! I guess the old adage is true - a skunk cannot smell its own stink.
Over the weekend I’ve hear two different pundits say the Republicans will most likely take the House.
Why? Is there something with the numbers and how many Democrats are up for re-election or retiring and the locations of these elections? Or, is it just conventional thought that the House goes to the party that doesn’t hold the White House? I know there’s gerrymandering and other laws that have been passed since ‘20 to make it harder to vote, but major news outlets do not like to talk about that for some infuriating reason.
