That third paragraph paints a bleak picture of a choice between authoritarian fascism and sharia communism. Sort of supposes there are no other choices. I’ll continue to live outside the box and choose democracy... I prefer social democracy because I like to think my tax dollars will help my fellow citizens stay healthy, informed and educated. We all know Trump doesn’t do math well... of any kind. Let’s all try to keep the faith, ignore the bluster and pass the popcorn 🍿

The hair I cleaned out of the shower drain this morning is smarter than the vast majority of the repubs. I try not to be discouraged, but these people and their unrelenting stupidity are exhausting.

You know, I attended segregated public schools in Louisiana through the fifth grade. Then I spent two years in Tioga, ND, in a Scandinavian culture -- versus Cajun. Then two years on a Lakota reservation in Wolf Point, Montana. When I was 15 we moved to San Diego, CA, where I lived when I was old enough to register to vote. I registered Republican. I don’t really remember, but I probably voted for Ronald Reagan. I changed my registration to Democrat when Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the House. I couldn’t believe that anybody could be that stupid. For a majority of those years I also identified as a Christian. Today I can’t see even a minute resemblance between what I thought the Republican party or the Christian religion represented in a reasoning and moral world view. I at one time thought I was kind of a centrist. I now fully identify with the Progressive Democrats and that’s mostly because of my view of where the Christian values I was taught are being put into practice. I go back to I can’t believe Newt Gingrich was the bottom of the barrel as far as stupidity. He seems ALMOST(?) reasonable in comparison QQ and the other Republican politicians who have been voted to legislate in our National government today. I can’t even think about or talk about the two Fascist governors of states that supposedly belong the the UNITED States.

I would think that even MAGA would start thinking about the boy who yelled wolf too many times. I choose to not click on any tfg stories in the news. I'm refusing the click bait.

And I would love to have the arrest come later in the week. Just think about all the stooges getting worked up for nothing.

Right on target, TC! This is going to be quite a week. Keep the prose and analysis coming. The whole GOP is now shown to be corrupt and complicit in this whole thing. They have drunk the kool-aid and signed up for the cheering squad. May they all wind up in the Place of Perdition. Far be it from me to ask something like: "Where are 'upstanding citizens' like George Romney?," so I won't ask it. :-)

I’m interested. When does George Soros start suing these assholes?

DeSantis is out of the “closet”.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/20/us/politics/desantis-trump-indictment.html?

After a reporter asked for Mr. DeSantis’s thoughts about the potential indictment and whether he might have a role in extraditing Mr. Trump to New York, the governor demurred, saying he did not know what was going to happen.

“But I do know this: The Manhattan district attorney is a Soros-funded prosecutor,”

“And so he, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety,” Mr. DeSantis said.

Truly a combination of Night of the Long Knives and Rise and Fall of the Third Reich.

I keep hoping the GA AG will outjock the NY AG and drop her indictment tomorrow while the chorus of the witless goes to NY. And then have the DOJ swoop (ha!) in and take over the GA case which they will add to their own. It would be dazzling and full of prosecutorial advantages.

We have some very, very mentally ill people in this country. I'm getting to the point

where I think a free lobotomy,

with a power drill would be fine and dandy. Let's start in Orlando

at the rethug retreat and work

our way over to the coast.

What is his defense? He did it. It's not a parking ticket. And then he lied about it in his financial records. WTAF? How can there be a defense of him? He's slime and I'm sick of all of this. Justice comes swiftly to those without the means to fight, and crushingly slowly for those who have those means. What is this thrall? I know, it's been discussed ad nauseum. Distraction and rationalization.

Blech

Thanks for keeping me informed about the "umber mounds" current rants. I refuse to look at (tv) or read (online) anything that brings up that face!

More importantly today must be start of spring! Found that the local bear has de-hibernated - at least he/she did last night & took down all 3 suet feeders - demolished one - broke a branch on the tree next to my porch - and judging from tracks spent time meandering around the yard. Which means now everything must come in at night. I'm sure he will be back to check to see if I re-filled his treats - but will be sadly disappointed. Learned long ago not to leave sunflower feeders out at night - of course the hard way!

As I said - spring must be here - no matter whether there is 8" of snow here and there or not.

I wish this was a news flash but it’s not. We have been watching the not so slow moving coup for years, so hoping that the muck misses us. I remember hearing some people on tv who lived in Serejavo before the “war,” talking about how the country sunk into despair. Sounds exactly like us.

May I inform you little Mr gym Jordan that the Justice department didn’t indict “individual one” aka Donald trump, because the Attorneys General of the Southern District of New York were told to drop the investigation into individual one. By who you ask Little gym? Why it was Attorney General Bill Barr himself. Read Geoffrey Berman’s book “Holding the Line”. Mr Berman was fired by Barr for possessing that nasty trait called integrity. Something little gym Jordan couldn’t spell let alone know what it means. Methinks you doth protest too much Mr gym, along with your clan of ridiculous clowns.

The sooner Drumpf loses his ability to rant and ramble, the better the national mental health profile will become. It's well past time he finds a heaping helping of silence that lasts forever.

I appreciate the writings lately; I just am unable to form a coherent thought to write any comments. Tonight wasn't the blasphemy, vulgarity, or profanity; it was more like abject dismay that we have politicians in this country who are actively working to destroy our nation.
