Excellent piece today, TC. It brings several things to mind. 1) “The law is but man’s opinion.” A true and scary thought and not original to me, but I can’t remember where I read 44+ years ago. 2)Filibuster = sabotage. Look how the filibuster has been used historically, and it is only a procedural rule of the Senate. Unconscionable! 3)What good are laws when those tasked with executing them say, “So what,” and shrug their shoulders nonchalantly. Example-Susan “He learned his lesson” Collins.
