Tom, the cross pollination of these fine minds — knowledgeable, trained, ethical, committed to democracy, proactive — creates a ground swell that elevates and uplifts, so that we common folk can be informed, inspired, motivated to be part of the team that in the end will vanquish. So glad Harry Litman resigned from mainstream media, continues on YouTube with his own channel plus guest appearances, and has joined Substack. To say all this is heartening is too mild a statement. It definitely energizes and of course informs so we have accurate arrows in our quivers. Thank you for this repost. You are a significant voice in the recipe toward success. You are consistent, you persevere, you are timely and you always write with a context that nails it, no matter the topic. Hope the kitties are nearby to provide balance, for this must make high demand of desk time. Thank you for your voice.
Oh my gosh, I laughed out loud! I needed that. Thanks!
I feel moved to add that some comment sections seem intimidating, both to read and to consider contributing to the threads of conversation. There’s definitely no less knowledgeability here than elsewhere, but there’s something about your posts and readers’ comments that invites participation, feels safe. That’s a good thing. Could be there’s a bit more laughter interspersed (albeit some very wry…eye roll material)… It’s all very real and upfront. That resonates and is a delight. Again, thank you!
Absolutely, Betsy…You’re right! Nothing prim and proper… And it might have been Tom who recommended the Adam Parkhomenko substack which proffers fair warning first thing… I’ve recommended it to several friends because it offers a great bullet point list of news, is off the hook with language but it’s fine. Can’t say that I’ve ever looked at comments for that account whereas here, the substance and intellectual stimulation is highly engaging . What can I say? (And no, I don’t say that to all the boys… Lol.) Thx, Betsy!
OMG, I never wanted my old age to be consumed with legal machinations for a mad carnival barker obsessed with revenge. And now one aided by the richest man in the world trying to rewrite laws to the point of undoing every legal precedent that this country “of laws” has established over 250 years. My brain is awash in sewage as long as he is alive. There is no escape..
Your great summary here just further depresses me as I see poor schlubs who run off with the tip jars at the local delis and pizzerias get caught and get 60-90 days in the slam while TFG not only walks free, but gets to marshal the nation's forces against those who oppose him. I hope Joe will consider pardoning ALL felons convicted of non-violent crimes and free up space in our over-crowded prisons so there will be room for the criminals Trump will have "governing" the nation.
Thanks for the reminder to subscribe to Harry Tom. I have been planning on doing it but had put it off, all I had to do was hit the button you provided. I have been listening to him for years on MSNBC, he's smart and clear eyed which I appreciate. I have like many been limiting my intake since the election, but limiting doesn't mean stopping all of it. Harry was on my list, I'll see if I feel the need to comment, I do a lot of things that keep me more than occupied, and I'm learning to express myself writing, but as you know there are only 24 hrs in a day. I thought Harry's essay was excellent, food for thought.
Thanks Tom for re-posting Harry Litman's post. It really is too bad the DOJ wasn't able to act as quickly as the Legislature did on bringing an investigation and charges against trump. I am not 'putting the blame' on Merrick Garland, I do agree he was the wrong man for that job. He was an excellent judge and would have been of great value on the Supreme Court. He is very astute and deliberative, value that are essential along with great integrity. They just are values for the Attorney General.
Unless the cholesterol count gets him first, here's how TFG will further elude blindfolded Justice who's been feeling around in a darkened nation for him for decades. Now that he's safely ensconced behind a shield of immunity with his richmen babysitters he will play out his revenge fantasies against a nation that humilitated him by electing "that guy" in 2020. He'll have some time to do it before Justice tugs at his collar in the dark. Then his handpicked clucks will 25 him out, and that will lay the groundwork for escaping once again because he will be too demented to be sent to a place where he wished so many others belonged. That 25th thing will cement his legacy in a way that will overshadow his criminality and he can feel that he finally got the attention he's always wanted, that of the richest punk in the world and a bevy of misbegotten and shamelessly obsequious sidekicks. As for his craven magas, they have served to highlight the fact that the Squad in DC and some minority prosecutors are the only groups with a non-porous spine.

Bet you say that to all the boys, Katherine. :-)
Actually, thanks much.

He’ll need an electron microscope to find humor…
Katherine, I think part if what makes this site feel safe is that we can vent with foul language & not be reprimanded.

What Katherine said!
So true, he keeps me tolerably sane

Thank you Tom! You're the best!
Flattery will get you everywhere, Victoria, particularly when you use the old Hollywood rule of only using the best - the truth. :-)
I’m not so sure Fanni Willis will wither away. Fingers crossed and hope I live to see it.
