Given how little legislatively is likely to come out of the senate after the first of the year, the moronic one is going to have very little impact, so screw her and the green bus she is on. She isn't going to be any use to the repugnantkins and they probably loathe her as much as the democrats do. She can't hurt the democrats in AZ, she has no power, they ought to look very closely at all of the ways that they can make life as difficult for her, as she has for them. Stop paying for her offices, travel, local staff etc, let the independents pay for it, it won't break her but it will get a lot of people's attention. The thing that bothers me the most, is that she will be getting a pension for her very few years in the senate that almost all Americans can only dream of. From the day she got to the senate she has been standing in the door, blocking the potential that our elections have made possible.

"The thing that bothers me the most, is that she will be getting a pension for her very few years in the senate that almost all Americans can only dream of." Welp, that thought did nothing positive for my digestive system. Obviously, "public servants" do indeed get nice pensions and other perks, but being reminded in this instance....maddening.

That explains a lot. I don't tweet anymore or I would send this to MSNBC. She needs to be fully exposed.

how about asking a friend to do it? I'd be happy to, but when Twitter smells me coming, the dead bolts start sliding.

David, I'd be happy to b do it. I have a Twitter account that i've only ever used for excerpts from books . So do i just copy and paste it into my account ? Are we serious and what does TC think?

TC's OK with it. But watching the commentary on MSNBC today, it appears they "got the message" too.

I'm fine with anything you feel like doing.

Well, somebody is probably going to have to give me some tech help but let me see what I can do first. It seems important and I have a long career of volunteering to get in trouble

So do I. :-)

Another crazy opportunist was Tulsi Gabbard, who ran as a Democrat in Hawaii’s Second Congressional district, comprised of rural Oahu and the neighbor islands, a strong Democratic Party stronghold, with her toeing the party line and getting the votes. Except for Maui, which is infested with rich haoles from the Mainland, the rest of the the Second Congressional is heavily blue-collar with most people working for the hotel/hospitality industry, agricultural, and service workers, so it’s not surprising that Gabbard ran as a Dem. Then she got into office and went totally wacko…she got dropped like a handful of pahoehoe lava from Kilauea by the local Democratic Party and after she ran for President, her position has been taken by a more mainline Dem representative. Sinema is the same type of opportunist, a true DINO by her actions…good riddance and I hope she ends up as a one-termer, just like Gabbard.

yeah, I'm still trying to figure Gabbard out. it's possible that Hillary was absolutely on target when she called Gabbard a "Russian asset."

and if anyone is worried about my mental health for saying that I think about Gabbard AT ALL, rest assured that such thoughts occupy an absolutely minimal part of my consciousness.

isn't it getting tiresome having to spend any time at all thinking about these assholes?

"Cinema" is an opportunist for sure, and a snake. It will certainly be interesting to see if the democrats in AZ can do their work without showing their hand completely and keep her guessing. What a mess! If Sen. Warnock had lost, she might have held her powder until later, but his win meant her own stage presence was going to be weakened. Don't you just hate it?

Expand full comment

She would have done this for sure if Warnock had lost, because it would have made her the most powerful senator - all she would have to do in a 50-50 situation would be to threaten to go "full independent" and mess things up totally.

Well, I about drained my donation purse to help Senate candidates just so the two Trojan horses could go to hell.

Expand full comment

Thanks for the exposé, though I have long suspected that she, like a lot of the others, are in it for their own glory, and to hell with governing.

Expand full comment

That too, but she has an ideology that supports it.

Expand full comment

I find it ironic that she claims not to want to be involved in political drama while creating political drama of the highest order.

Expand full comment

yeah, but it's sort of like the fast food equivalent of drama...like an episode of an essentially crappy cop show in the '70's.

you know...that's a really excellent point. and it's totally obvious, but only after you said it. and even though the constituencies seem diametrically opposed, the mindsets do indeed amount to the same thing...that the present is irredeemable so there's no point trying to fix any part of it. in the final analysis, both of them feel like nihilism.

I figured you'd have something to say about this 😈 Didn't know about the history of the Greens' revolutionary relation to democracy, but always thought Sinema was a classic "bimbo", albeit a tad intelligent - just enough to know how to stab ya in the back. She wants to retain her committee assignments but as Independent, cake and eating it, too. But always ready for her close-up Mr deMille. Your 6th paragraph is quite unsettling.

Expand full comment

Do Senate committee assignments get shuffled in the new Congress? Surely her current committee assignments could be changed, putting her on some committee of far less consequence.

Expand full comment

They won't do that - they will treat her with kid gloves (or like a live hand grenade) for the next two years. Pissing her off would not get the others what they need, which is her remaining in the caucus.

I do not ❤ this. Darn. You are right, TC.

Thanks for this assessment, TC. I just knew that you really couldn’t trust the Greens in any way, shape, or form. You’ve given me a good lesson as to why.

If anything, this move by Cinema Sinema should tick the Democratic

Party off in AZ enough to start moving against her. I'd start donating now, to bring her down.

She has served NO purpose for the

people of her state. As for Maserati

Manchin, I'm waiting for his knife in

the back. I think he's up for re-election in 2024 and hope there

therewill be a strong Dem to run

against him. He's a gaping wound

on the butt of W. VA with his coal,

pharma and big oil interests.
