As I wrote un my journal early thus more, after giving thanks for waking to life, live, hope, I pray that this crowd of fascists will be deposed, will die soon, will fall out of windows, or like Epstein, commit "suicide". However, I am with the cats...wake me when it's over. I've decided I need a black hat that states I DO NOT VOTE FOR FASCISTS. Or maybe, GOP=FASCIST TYRANNY. I said to the greeters at our excellent Mexican restaurant today, " I did not vote for trump.. I hate what he is doing." There followed warm smiles.
My mother was 17 when Hitler took her country. In the 70s when Nixon pushed and signed the “no-knock warrant” law, she commented, in a stricken voice, “This is how it begins”. I am glad she passed in 1985, and is not around now to live through it again. I hope enough of us have learned from that history to change the outcome this time.
Regarding the latest from SCOTUS, yesterday, Glenn Kirschner attempted to tamp fears, saying the ruling is not as bad as it seems, that they simply grant permission that the E.O. may legally direct agencies to start plans for reductions in personnel… RIP? Do I have that right?
Anyway… While I understood his point, I’ll say if this were a more “normal” regime, so we could even say admin again, that ruling might make some sense, but considering the current 47 track record, I completely agree with Rob Hubbell this morning and you as well, and definitely KJB, basically pointing out what a slippery slope it is, and that SCOTUS overall is not in touch with reality, people’s day-to-day lives, does not have a finger on the pulse like the lower courts do, and therefore should not overrule them somewhat glibly…
The orders are decimating workforces and services, add to unemployment population, throw families into chaos, uproot entire communities, just as the shuttering of rural hospitals will, as major employers in their respective areas… What a mess. Understatement, I realize.
I wrote to KarenRN (responding about a documentary I recommended) about attending F1 a second time, $9 Bargain Tuesday price… I’m a slow learner, discerned much more in the movie as of second viewing, plot framework in place from first view last Friday.
And then there’s this… This elegant man was a special friend, used to meet my husband at Starbucks on Saturday mornings to do crosswords together. Brilliant man. His invention Cue Vue is mentioned (relevant? Somehow superbly links soundtrack to visuals of documentary films). Not mentioned in the article is that his hometown, North Buxton, Ontario, was founded by escaped slaves, still populated by descendants, was the geographic end of the underground railroad!
Trump can't manage what the magas put him in charge of already, so he needs to close his yapper about taking over other cities and countries. I doubt he can pull his own socks on.
I keep saying this over and over: their cruelty IS the point. And it's not just the convicted felon doing all this. It is his puppet masters: Miller, Vought, the Heritage Foundation, Putin and the rest of the traitors who foisted Project 2025 upon us. The Shitstain-in-chief is their useful idiot!
I would like to join the kitties in a nap - especially the part about "wake me when it's over".
You read my mind.
:-(

Tax the damn churches!!!
Certainly, particularly when they meddle in politics and nonreligious matters.
They're being forced to "diversify" because they haven't been particularly successful at their original missions.
Thanks for Roscoe, Tom.
Brava to Judge Wang.
Thank you, TC...I agree with the kitties!
