My focus is on Musk's coup of the Treasury. He and his boy toys have our social security numbers and could stop payment of social security to millions of Americans. USAID is already shutting down and Marco Rubio, Cory Booker's "esteemed colleague", is already tearing it apart. I listened to Chris Murphy last night, and I agree with him. Trump's Gaza bombshell is just a shiny object to get the media and people to ignore the fact a Nazi sympathizer billionaire has taken control of our Treasury. This is treason. Republicans are the new Nazi party and they walk in goose step together. Keep the calls going to Congress. There's finally some pushback to Musk. He must be stopped.
Yesterday, the WH switchboard was jammed as were phones for just about everyone in Congress. If you have patience, keep trying. Jam them every day. They can try to ignore us, but by jove we vastly outnumber them and WE are the People, not they.
I followed Fetterman as he went around the state and felt he was really for the common man. What the hell happened to him? Is it Congress? Gives people a sense of power? I am so very disgusted.
From The Department of We Need To Start Shopping At Farmer's Markets: Albertson's announcing store 'closings,' per se, so that Kroger (under its long defunct Sav-A-Lot brand) can swoop in and take over without the DOJ telling them 'no.'
He telegraphed his "development plan" for Gaza long ago, when Kushner (and the convicted felon too, I believe) called it "prime beachfront property." They've had their eyes on it as a site for another tower and another resort area. The Palestinians aren't going to like this one bit. Pity our soldiers over there, who now have additional targets on their backs thanks to this overt declaration of a war crime.
He also telegraphed something else that no one is talking about because it sounds so much like a QAnon conspiracy theory. I will just drop some reminders here: recall his announcing that he already had all the votes he needed? Recall he smirking at a rally before the election that he and Elon had a "secret"? Recall his announcement "you will never have to vote again"? Recall his projections beginning in 2016 that every single election in which he did not win was "rigged"?
Now, fast forward to the sudden takeover of our Treasury by pimply faced tech kids, the use of an outside server in OBM, the mysterious people who are keeping our own government officials out of offices for which they have oversight.
Now, here's the less said, but niggling little thought that manages to surface every now and then; if those kids could hack into and take control of our total treasury, it would be relatively easy for them to assure that ALL seven "swing" states managed to get just the right numbers needed...
I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature, but there's an awful lot going on right now that doesn't meet the smell test.
And then I checked and found one more little oddity: Kimbal Musk owns over 9,000 "advanced drones." I'm not so sure, with a "special government employee" running amok that I'd feel particularly safe in a mass protest, albeit a peaceful protest.
I’m not a conspiracy theory lackey myself, but it has been haunting from the wings, the remarks Trump even made on January 20 thanking Elmo for his excellent computer work in Pennsylvania… I’m not checking any numbers but it seemed to be the swing states each were just over the threshold for a win and to be a gnat’s eyelash beyond what requires a recount. Rob Hubbell and others quickly reminded those of us making inquiries that every precinct in Pennsylvania uses a different computer system, and that outside influence is virtually impossible… But with what’s happening… Nod, nod, wink, wink, nudge, nudge… It’s certainly surreal and gives one pause. (I wish I could think of a clever, pun for the kitties… paws… but my brain is numb. I’d say brain is scrambled eggs but at $.50 an egg surcharge at Waffle House. I’ll pass on that one.) Man, we have to pay attention… And join where we can make a difference. I was always a fan of the WWII underground stories, a favorite back in my intermediate grades of school, a book called The Tangled Skein. I tried checking it out from the Library of Congress, e-book section, I believe, but it got very complicated. It took place in Norway, and there were kids in the underground working so effectively. I feel like we’re going to be called upon for some of this now. Turning now to the link to download the passive aggressive resistance guide from the CIA. Thanks for all of this.
Ellen - the problem with that conspiracy is that voting is not owned by a federal agency, so there is no central access to voting software. Voting is managed by the states, and the voting software companies are private vendors, contracted by the state or county to run their voting. Hacking is harder for that reason, and I have yet to see anything more than suspicious data; frankly it would be very hard to prove unless someone on the inside were to release the specific code that change the vote tabulations. Proprietary code is almost certainly encrypted, and without the key, virtually impossible to get a look at.
Tom, I'm curious what you about any sort of military option here - meaning the military makes the decision to take some/all of the counterrevolutionaries into custody because their burning the Constitution to the ground. That would mean arresting Hegseth. Is that even a remote possibility? Is there even a means within military structure to do that?
There is only one way to stop this coup. It is called Impeachment.
The Supreme Court in the aptly named case Trump v United States declared that the President is allowed to break the law when acting in his official capacity. They went on to specify that the people's only recourse is impeachment.
Therefore, our duty as citizens in this moment is to bombard the House and Senate with demands that impeachment proceedings be initiated immediately.
Cooperation of a small number of Republicans is necessary, but do not assume that this is impossible. Do Not Surrender In Advance. They're all politicians, and when pressure rises they react. Voters in red states are feeling the effects too -- perhaps even more, since they receive more federal benefits.
By God, I hope the Democratic leadership understands now that of we get through this and ever again have the government reins in our hands, we are going after every one of the tech bros and billionaires who supported this, with money or other resources. We'll sue them for billions for exposing and probably altering the protected private records, violating God only knows how many federal laws, and anything else we can think of..... And if the Democratic leadership does not follow through on this, we cut their balls off - they weren't using them anyway.....
OK, there were a couple of these I didn't know about, I thank you for the roll-up, but it makes me even more terrified that we aren't going to be able to live through this madness. Brings this quote from Christmas Vacation to mind.."Take a look around you, Ellen! We're at the threshold of Hell!"
For those interested in historical parallels, Trump in his adoration of President McKinley may have “read” more than the chapter on tariffs. McKinley pulled a move similar to Trump’s expressed desire to add Gaza to his real estate portfolio. McKinley decided not to vacate the Philippines after the US had captured it in the Spanish-American War. Instead, he decided that America adopt a policy of “benevolent assimilation” towards the country. We ended up in the Philippine-American War.
I know that the presidential Dweeb, Jared, has sniffed around Gaza several years ago, looking for empty campsites. So I can’t blame McKinley for Trump’s latest delusional real estate concept. Yet if history doesn’t exactly repeat itself sometimes, this time it looks as if someone grabbed the same sheet music.
A 1978 thriller with Gregory Peck & Laurence Olivier has been haunting me with parallels to these young tech saboteurs. The movie The Boys From Brazil chilled me but this new reality version is even creepier.
I am with you, re football is the American Roman Gladiators .

Took me two days but I finally got to leave a comment to WH today. Past few days have been spent calling, leaving messages and sending emails.

I'm guessing here but it may have more to do with his stroke? The part of his brain that processes information is not functioning properly, maybe?
Follow the money and always consider that the insane proclamations are just a smoke screen.
I needed this. (Scurries off to download the Simple Sabotage Manuel).
I did too...Gonna make copies and send to some folks I know who work in "the bureaucracy"!!! 😏

I’d like to stop paying taxes. I’m pretty sure my tax dollars will be going to support the fascists.

Like is an understatement.
