Wow, TC, you packed a lot into this one....love the tidbits we never hear about... Boebert mixing up the Stones!!! Hilarious and, yes, stupid. Who did the research? One of the teen-age Doge guys using their " trusty" AI ?

AI is smarter than all of them. They don’t have enough sense to use AI.

On the topic of cocaine addiction, aside from Adderall and Ketamine, one has to wonder what else that motley assortment of incompetents is sniffing or imbibing or snorting or popping. Their actions, tweets, and explanations are on par with underage teenagers at a beer bust trying to explain how they got there, why and what they were doing.

It’s enough to make me reach for some kind of “mood enhancer”😉

The news is head spinning, and Carol is right: you definitely packed a lot in… I think I’ll go stick my head in a Doritos bag. Smokey has the right idea. Darling picture. She really ate them? We had a pet bunny in El Segundo and, during cuddles, used to feed him mini-marshmallows for treats. Not a good dental outcome :(

He was a beautiful pet. Creative name: Thumper.

Honest to goodness, your own version of “daily dose of perspective” (borrowing from Rob Hubbell) gives a spritz of joy that diffuses a lot of the tension from the news that came before. Love it. Thank you.

I think she mostly licked them. Once she got into the bag, we didn't investigate the remains further after she left.

I had a black tuxedo who would throw you down for a potato chip! None of us ate Doritos, so I don’t know how he felt about them.

Expand full comment

My tuxedo isn't interested, but my extremely shy Tortie adores potato chips! She comes from out of her favorite hiding spot if she hears the bag crinkle. I know they aren't good for her--nor me--but I can't help but give her one. She snatches it and runs 10 feet away to eat it, and obviously enjoys it. She was a nearly feral rescue, so I wonder if she survived on them.

Please forgive my inadvertent omission. My bad, compelled to insert here that obviously it’s not all bad news, for sure. Absolutely celebrating Cory Booker’s courageous and phenomenal accomplishment (praying it proves to be a springboard!), and Judge Crawford’s victory is joyously stupendous! HONEST victory! Loving the political cartoons today… so I’m not oblivious, not all doom and gloom. Onward!

A "stupid Republican sheriff" was the father of my current useless Congresscritter, Greg "Bang-Bang" Steube, who has his head so far up PINO's ass he can say hello to Lindsey Graham. He served in the JAG Corps in the Army after graduating from law school, but neither his education nor his military experience has made him any wiser.

In spite of this, he voted with the Democrats on the proxy voting resolution--one of 9 R's to do so--but then tried to spin it away today as a "procedural move." (???). Steube can't even get it right when he does the right thing!

One of the new 'Critters elected last night, Randy Fine (FL-6) is an absolute piece of work even by Republican standards. Stand by for even more nonsense from the Florida congressional delegation. Hopefully Josh Weil can send him home in 2026.

Thanks for the daily infusion of the liquified bugs and bats that comprise America 4/2. It keeps my activism motivated.

It's not too early for the Dems to start advertising their antidotes for every single and separate poison Trump, Musk, and the GOP flush into our drinking water. Every pronouncement should begin with "When Dems have the majority we will..." because it signals a unified front, it advertises what to expect, and it steals GOP thunder. I would also aim everything in the direction of repair, restore, and set the stage for America's young. Enumerate each antidote and stack them up like firewood. By the time the midterms arrive, our policies are visible and easily reviewed (We know Americans' attention span is roughly similar to the gestation period of spiders.) Each Dem can announce a response and gain visibility and attachment to a good antidote. This will provide a policy structure that voters can understand. Jeffries needs to put the numbers in a fishbowl and have each Dem take one and be responsible for the messaging as each new GOP affront goes public. Structure matters, which is what Tom gives us with his reporting. And, by dog, Bernie Sanders knows that folks stick with him as he enumerates, right?

(They still won't let me run the DNC.)

Nobody is running the DNC to give you the authority to run it. All we have are chickens running around with their heads cut off.

Another top notch overview of the madness afflicting too many Americans. And yet, some sanity and courage beginning to rise up! RISE UP! Isn't that from Hamilton? At any rate, Sen. Booker’s 25 hours and 4 minutes was a stunner...history, personal stories, stories from constituents, "it's not about left or right, it's about right or wrong", I hope there will be a transcript produced that others in leadership will use for their own speeches at town halls in their own districts as well as red ones. We're in a tremendous battle now for the soul of this nation. How inspiring that Sen. Booker actually spoke about deeply significant hopes, dreams and our national future. Unlike ted ooze who read children's books, and thurmond who read the phone book and also sneaked out to the toilet. Sen. Booker IMO has become the new senate minority leader.

Why are people SO EXCITED about we only lost by 5%. That is a LOSS. Winning is all that matters. Almost won does not count for shit.

Methinks General Dan “Raizin” Caine is lying about that "it never happened". He has every motivation to lie, almost a requirement - if he were to admit that the red hat or the statement were true he might not get confirmed, and if he really wants to be the upjumped formerly retired 3-star general who is now chairman, he kind of has to lie imo.

Love that Smokey, they live on since you still breathe life into their memories.

Wondered what Frank Luntz was up to. He’s been whitewashing his rep a bit since he was as good as Goebbels in advising the w/Dickie repubs. I say piss on Frank and anything he is doing now.

The war on women is as obvious as the war on others. I wonder how long it will take for that to sink into

Soft cult brains. Thanks for the info on Save. Great name for a proposed law that screws women. A great type of Frank Luntz Orwellian bullschittery. Sounds more like a muskrat ploy.

Thanks for the tome, Lordy, Lordy…
