By calling the resistance “antifa,” MTG is shouting loudly and clearly that they are fascists! Right from the horse’s mouth.

True story: I have surprised, confused, and/or perplexed "certain" people when I say that "Antifa" is short for "Anti -Fascist". Then, I tell them that the largest group of Antifa ever was backed by the US government under FDR (that ol' commie/socialist/leftist/liberal or whatever label they choose.) When I tell them then that my dad, and two uncles were GIs who fought FASCISTS in WW2--wow, you can just watch the play of emotions on the face!

:-D (sometimes my evil twin comes out and I just can't help it.)

Antifa! Antifa! Antifa! (apologies to the Brady Bunch)

I guess we're in great shape with that antifa thing because there is no such organization as antifa, and as such, no individuals can be said to be a part of antifa. Whew!

Except the formal lack of antifa members will not stop the goons. They will happily proclaim that anyone who dares protest any of T’s words or acts to be antifa, and a terrorist. Because it is irrational to oppose t, you must be a terrorist if you do! These goons have no respect for actual facts or the constitution!

Yeah, but the Neanderthal shit-for-brains Rep from NW "Gio-ja" is apparently languishing for media attention and just had to cobble together some kind of foolishness to show Diddlebrain that she's still there.

It might take longer for the fever to break than most of us thought. The zeal among these misfits and misinformed is a real firestarter. They haven't yet done anything useful, proactive, palliative, or corrective, but they've certainly been flashy in their ineptitude. The deportations are shows for the groundlings who will soon be bored unless they can see more brown people being dragged face down by their heels. ICE has been eclipsed by the stunning "consternation" hearings. But resistance is peeking out from the Dems' and civil servants' security blankets. Not showing up to have your intelligence insulted can be just as effective as loud protests.

Thanks TC for a great report - it's utterly exhausting just to read it - I can imagine how draining it is to research and write it!

The most disheartening, infuriating, and inexplicable morsel (in a very tough field) was all those Democrat senators voting for Collins ... is the bar for a nominee really really that low? So long as they aren't actually raping someone at the hearing, they get a pass?

I understand that as soon as they rock up inside the Beltway, get the offices, the sweet interns, the black cars, the 'donations', and the invites to the best DC parties, most politicians lose any sense of mongrel and principle whatsoever - the only driving force is re-election. But what was the cost to these Dems to not vote for the traitor Collins?

Your missives are so hard to read. But I am so grateful for them. I can’t watch the news anymore because his orange arse is either on the screen or his grating voice is blathering nonsense - no matter what the news was about. He is everywhere and I can’t abide anything about him. Every Republican that opens his/her mouth is spewing lies that RushLimbaugh would be embarrassed to spew. The “big lie” has metastasized to cover EVERY SYLLABLE THEY SPEAK. IT’s Like they read from the same script. Hope you can survive the mountain of crap, it will reach Everest height every day. Per Goebbels- accuse the enemy of what you do, over and over. They learned that best of all.

Judge didn't SIGN the TRO until an hour or so ago. No idea whether it is a nationwide injunction nor whether it only covers freeze on non profits. From his comments earlier it looks like it will be as broad as possible.

Let's hope it stops THIS or the next disease incoming will be drug resistant TB

The law trump is relying on for expedited deportations specifically excludes use of it on folks from countries with which we have no diplomatic relations so long as they arrive by plane at a port of entry. In particular, Venezuela. It also applies only to immigrants "not admitted" to the US, which I would say all those on temporary permission were, unless the president saying "OK" isn't "admittance". But I thought anything a President did was good to go. So a lot of folks have to go through immigration courts. Happy backlog waiting.

Suspensions can be for 14 days or less if certain procedures are followed, and there is a right of appeal from the suspension. 5 U.S. Code § 7503 - Cause and procedure

I looked at the Dems who vote to invoke cloture. Patty Murray was one. If she voted for it there was a good reason. Probably knew that more debate was a waste of time and space. I'm pretty sure she, nor most if any of the Dems who voted on this, will vote for confirmation. Now if we could only get a few GOP types to catch bird flu.....

The TRO is national and total.

WHEE. There is opposition from justices on national tro's and injunctions. But this case would seem to fit the circumstances which would allow them.

I don't drink that much alcohol, but methinks this is going to be a "two thc gummies" night. Un-prez Diddlebrain is going ahead with the tariffs--25% for goods from Canada and Mexico and 10% for goods from China. Glad we stocked up on TP and a few other essentials. Get ready for higher tea and coffee prices...sigh.
