Those jointed toesies and curved claws are damned near as effective as opposable thumbs. 😉 What I found remarkable about this particular kitty was the way he (making an assumption here) scouted out the terrain before drawing his conclusions about the best means of escape. Those who denigrate cats’ intelligence have obviously never lived with one.
