Yes it was a day long project putting my cat tree together. My 6 inside cats were all over it at every stage of assembly. Then as soon as it was done they all ignored it. I tried sprinkling cat nip on it and got some temporary interest. But it was several days before they decided they liked it. And they each staked out their favorite spot. Gordon Whitefoot has claimed the basket and the others will be sorry if they try to get in it😹
Thank you Ally on behalf of Gordon, who is actually a she. I named her when she was a feral kitten with white feet. I couldn’t get close enough to identify her gender and since I love Gordon Lightfoot the name popped into my mind and stuck. I found out she was female when I finally was able to live trap her, and got her to the vet and she was spayed. Now she is very affectionate and the cat tree basket queen.
Happy Caturday, so soothing to see these felines in the cat trees. A bright spot in my not so very happy day at work, never easy to say good-bye to coworkers moving on to better futures - happy for them, but will miss them.
Your cats live in the lap of luxury! Three - count em - three cat trees! Poor little Smurfie has her basket full of toys and her carrier. Her carrier still remains on the floor of "her room" because that is her nap place. Weird - I've never had a cat that liked the carrier before - the minute I pulled it out - they disappeared. But then, Smurf hasnt had to make any trips in hers since she got here.
Our cats love their trees! Artemis is fond of the bowls (we call them hammocks) and the top shelf. Apollo likes anything that’s sunny and/or warm. We have one on the small catio where Artemis perches up high to better see the squirrels, birds, and her people doing weird people things.
If you think you've got cat crowding, you should see my friend Charles' microcar collection. I would say he had at least 75 of 'em crammed into a large vaguely garage-like building. There were tiny French cars, tiny German cars, tiny Japanese cars, a Honda that was similar to a VW Microbus in general outline, an amphibious car just like LBJ had, a gorgeous Pacer, a gorgeous French Panhard, with an equally gorgeous paint job, and two '59 Imperials!
I can well imagine those cats loving those cozy places in the cat trees. MEOW!
Wow, David! Is your friend’s car collection open for public viewing? I’m in metro Boston, too, and my husband and son are both car enthusiasts. My husband is currently restoring a 1928 Model A.
It's not open for public viewing that I know of--and the cars really are crammed in. But if you're on FB you should join Arlington Classic Car Club--that's us! We have fairly frequent get-togethers, and I'm sure there will be another visit to Charles Gould's collection one of these days. He gets a lot of enjoyment showing off his cars, and it is a spectacular collection.
I have four felines, all rescues, and they invented the word "pet". I recently downsized from a
to turn the mattress), but the four plaster themselves precariously on the few square inches until I feel like Gulliver in tied down by the Lilliputians .
Sometimes it's hard to know which was domesticated first, mankind or petkind. Easy to see that the cats are now ruling the roost they got you to build.

I had to change my avatar pic to Gordon Whitefoot in the basket.
He’s a cutie!!!

Such a sweetie!
Kitties and people are not fond of change.
True dat! They're little Republicans when it comes to change. :-)

So wonderful to see happy cats!
And what was wrong with the previous cat trees? Too much mingling of the scent of previous cats?
They'd clawed them to ribbons.
Mine did that too. Now he won't touch the new one!
Since no-one has said it yet - "I tawt I saw a puddytat!"

Thank you for the Caturday pick me up. I think it's the first time I felt a smile on my face all day.
Pictures worth a thousand words!

Can't edit here, phoo. ...downsized from a queen sized to a single (easier to...)
You CAN edit here, Susan, on your own posts. Just click on the three dots.

Very cozy cat lodging!!
The “pride” is happy! Lucky cats!!

In answer to your question Judith, my question reveals the answer. Who domesticated the pets? Meow!
Great way to end a Saturday! Cats are so interesting!
Aww, Now that I understand. Been there done that.😻😻
