TC's piece tonight was truly a note of support to us. It was most welcome. Thank you, TC.

I've had thoughts about our President in the last couple of days. How will he be as election returns come in? Joe Biden ran for office in 2020 to save the soul of our country. We’ve learned, along with him that the soul of America is very difficult to get our arms around. Peter Baker, chief White House correspondent for The New York Times, wrote a piece about the president printed in today's paper. It ended this way:

'But if he takes a licking on Tuesday, aides said, he will own it and move ahead. In a life of falling and getting back up, it would be one more stumble, not the end. On that at least, he has faith.'

We're all in this together.

And…There is enough to go around.

Paraphrase of an old quote from somewhere...we all got here on different ships, one way or another. But we *are* all in the same boat now.

Thanks. I *could* use a drink. Been on the trail for a long time. Lots of trail dust to wash down.

Perfect. Thanks, Fern. I'm usually a "whiskey for my men, beer for my horses" sort, but as a famous judge (not Roy Bean) once said...

"I like beer."

Joe is facing treachery from within, almost as vicious as FDR faced before Pearl Harbor. We have no Japan lurking.

Pleased to hear my state (Pennsylvania) is voting at a higher rate than 2020. We've got a lot at stake for the Governor and Senate races. I'm taking my 92 year old Mom to vote on Tuesday, because every vote is going to matter!! Thank you, TC, for reminding us to be patient for the final results. Hang in there, everyone!

Here's a good one. I live in Arkansas and am Blue. I received my voter registration card from my county clerks office. I got my absentee ballot and voted, mailed it last week. Arkansas State Attorney Track the Vote says I'm not registered here. Typical red state

state crap, since my daughter called the county clerks office

and verified I'm registered and they

got my ballot. I don't usually use

use this invective but...fuck em all!

The vote counters are suspect in many cases, that’s democracy gone rogue.

I'll say one thing about the countdown before an election. It sure coughs up some bat-shit crazy emails. For years now I routinely get passionate pleas for donation--from both Parties--addressed to someone named Pamela.

Well, happy to hear, but I don't believe shit anymore.

That's the nice thing about heroin. Ya want some? First one's free.

We're voting on Tuesday. Just to fuck with the Republicans😆

Looks like our virtual Irish wake for Jack Freidman will be Thursday night, as long as we get Pierce to provide a playlist of kick ass Irish songs. No Danny Boy with this group. We're talking The Pogues, Drop kick Murphy's, Flogging Molly, Black 47.

TY, TC. I look forward to your anxiety relieving posts. I appreciate the reassurance and cautions in this one.

That warning about the GQP interfering with tabulation is so real. Ever since the “Brooks Bros. Revolt” in 2000 in Florida a part of their playbook is physically trying to prevent counting plus destroying ballots. They will be attempting break ins in several states. Arizona for sure.

I can’t watch much anymore, just scroll long enough to see if the sky has fallen. I so pray you are right. The blather in Texas is unbearable. So is the onslaught of Dem emails whining, usually from people I donated to, wanting more. I voted on second day of early voting. Haven’t voted for a Repub since God was a baby. Trevor Noah said it best. There should be laws against lies in campaign ads, instead of how many corn flakes are in a box (paraphrase). As usual, Fox rules the fools. And at 90 decibels. Our elections are an exercise in insanity. Republicans will never allow another fair election. They have and will taint every process. Yet we plod on with energy from some desire passed on by Franklin and those who first believed in America as it could be.

I've tried my god damndest to avoid ANY polls this last week or so. and I hope you're on the right track, because right now, I really lack the wherewithal or strength to start any kind of coherent plan (assuming such a thing exists) in the event that the bad guys win to ANY degree at all. I just don't.

but thanks, Tom, for alerting us to what might, in fact, be promising news.

I mailed in my absentee ballot last week, so I'll be waiting to watch those of us who did the same thing come in late to (one prays) save the day.

but fuck am I TIRED.

Tired is not the word, but so disgusted with the MSM wringing their “hands” over what has caused the division in America. No other entity (even ALEC, Federalist Society, Koch’s, social media) has the reach of Fox. Rupert is raking in money from Leonard Leo, and other rich “inquisitionists,” as they plot the religious take over of the only chance sanity has to prevail on a significant scale. Long planned and aided by evil in a red tie. Go down in flames, you poor excuse for Pharisees

RE: Democrats being 'allowed' to legislate during a lame duck session of Congress

So... if that's what the R's want, why not just go ahead and have mercy on the duck and shoot it to put it out of its misery the day the election results are declared. Unless of course it's the R's turn to be the duck, in which case they'd declare duck season to be closed.

Please. How stupid do they think... wait. Never mind. We already know how stupid they think... wait... check that, too... they *know* their followers are.

The "will of the voters", my F'n' ass.

It's "will to power" with these un-American a-holes. That's it. And that's all.

Went to homecoming events at my husband's alma mater. There was an early voting site adjacent to the student center. The line was tremendously long-filled with young people and a few not as young. The people in line were mostly on their phones, but there was also chatting and visiting. I am keeping that image in my head as we go through this week. I snapped a couple of photos so that I can revisit and refresh that image.

Having time on my hands, I get a little excited to be asked questions in a poll. The level of professionalism becomes apparent along the way, as does the agenda of the pollster. When the fake polls come along, I keep them hooked by asking questions about their biased questions

One pollster got so mad that she started arguing with me and eventually hung up as I wasted 20 minutes of her time that was supposed to be used for indoctrination purposes

There are many ways to slow them down
