Thank you so much for this post, TCinLA. Most everything you write about so well is known to those of us who have been breathing since the 70's. Especially, those of us who live near NYC and used to read the daily newspapers! My hair has been on fire about him as a so-called politician ever since he rode down the escalator and started behaving like a mob boss before a national audience. Before then, we had his number as a grifter, playboy, loudmouth, bankrupt businessman and all around lowlife who ruined the NYC skyline with his ugly building projects. When the Trump Organization asked us to provide an estimate to work at Seven Springs (which is just down the road), I visited the estate just to see it. (I admired the previous owner and the estate's history.) But, the word on the street was that you wouldn't get paid by Trump. Or, you would get paid a fraction of what you billed. So, believe me, I am cheering on Letitia James. All I see when I look at Trump is a cornered, snarling rat with sharp teeth whose jaws are open and ready to bite. Pundits are now raising the possibility that if he declares he's running for office in 2024, he can't be prosecuted now for any of the crimes he's committed. We'll see how that plays out. Personally, I'm shocked by the past year's inaction and bewildered by the fact that he's not in an orange jumpsuit.

Agree with your other admirers, thank you! Also a big thanks for recommending "Matinee," which I found on Amazon for a pittance. In a funk yesterday, I watched it with delight, having lived through the Cuban missile crisis when we seriously thought we were close to annihilation. But so few airplanes, TC! I spotted only two. Anyway, it lived up to your rave. My favorite line: "There's no First Amendment in the Ten Commandments, pal." Hilarious.

Thanks.

He really is like a python-- squeezing, squeezing the life out of us, then swallowing us whole.

I hope it was not a python that got sweet Ginger . We had two St Bernards snatched by gators, who drown their prey before eating.

Gosh, so many dangerous predators, animal and human, living in Florida!!

Makes some sort of sick sense … he did say he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and get away with it. I’m just disgusted with this particular species of human.

Wow! That's a great one, TC!

Same here as to "unsurprising". I guess I would like more background. We seem to find out plenty about the Oath Keepers etc.

I agree we have to fear the past president. But I am even more worried about his brainless followers! We must do what we can to straighten them out since they are twisted so badly around his every word! Thank you TC for this update.

Your loss of sweet little Ginger made me sad. I'm not a cat lady, but I do have two "innies" and three "outies." One of the "outies" is my feral GingerBoy. He's as big as a coyote and as wily and has managed to survive more than his nine lives might justify!

Mary Trump wrote specifically of the heinous actions of this monster and warned all of us about what to anticipate. From time to time, she is invited back to share her (professional as well as personal) perspective. She is always spot on. Not being a psychologist, I don't know whether he qualifies as a narcissistic sociopath or a narcissistic PSYCHOPATH. I lean toward the latter given his addiction to violence.

When he first entered "office" (I don't know what to call the Oval Office, when you consider that it was inhabited by a fat, coiffed, orange THING), news reports said he was tearing up official documents and dropping them on the floor. Someone had the task of picking up the pieces, taping them back together and ensuring they were sent to wherever official documents were supposed to be sent. The letter sent to Ivanka contains an addendum that spells out this requirement - to destroy documents is a federal crime...which, of course, means absolutely nothing to a mob boss.

Will they put him under permanent "house arrest" do you think? If so, might we pray for a tsunami that will target Mar a Lago.

Do any of your former colleagues in the Wood plan on writing a series about this dude?

Thanks so much TC in LA. How can sane people who know exactly what the score is with this guy vote for the candidates he is pushing? My mind just explodes at the stupidity. And did you notice the conspicuous presence of Black people at the rally, standing right behind him in the crowd, wearing "Black people for Trump" t-shirts? I wanted to know who exactly all of these people were and how they had come to be wearing these shirts for this guy in Arizona. There are too many people of many persuasions still gravitating toward him - like being held in a beam from the Death Star. How in the world can we break the pull? Frankly, if he can be caught out in what has obviously been a fraudulent way to game the banking system all these years, maybe we'll begin investigating the entire real estate industry not just in this country but worldwide. I am hoping for his house of cards to collapse around his ears sooner rather than later. PS: I hope that President Biden will take a deep breath before he speaks and stay away from his cuffs! Distressing does not begin to capture my feelings. So much good can be so quickly turned into you know what.
