I had one that I wasn’t going to keep too. Finally named him Snoodie because he loved to “snoodle.” He was a a jewel and was with us for about 18 years. They worm their way into your heart. I lost my orange Katy on Sunday morning. Grieving with you.

So sorry for your loss, Jeri and MaryPats - they are part of our family - I guess for some people they might be their whole family. I raised my kids to feel the same way I do about animals and we all have our menageries.
My Dad had dogs. several that were brown with black eyebrows, all named Bruno. No cats around, just a feral I tried to feed. Had no cats til some creep threw a bag of kittens in the school yard where I worked. Been a cat mom ever since... They are unconditional love if one is kind.
I was always animal crazy to the extreme - only had one dog when I was a kid, but we always had cats & since it was before spay & neuter (!) lots of kittens. Then there were the chickens & eventually my horse. And true, unconditional love!
Even the chickens, I was always afraid of them, maybe because of the rooster. But unconditional love in some unexpected places. I was given and I gave back. We are so lucky.
