Whelp, Republicans. Two pieces of advice:

1. Separate yourselves from the extremists, and ignore Trump. He’s not the vote rainmaker you thought he was.

2. Govern, this goes for Dems and independents. Quit these zero-sum, winner take all and sound bites strategy.

Actually, 3 pieces of advice:

3. Common sense gun laws. Owners have to pass a test showing they know how to safely use a gun. You know, like we do for cars. Require liability insurance for each gun. Yep, like cars again. Oh and require that each firearm be inspected annually to ensure it’s safety and firing mechanisms are in good working order. You got it - like cars.

This would require replacing hate with respect for fellow man, even libtards. Sean and Tucker will explode at the thought. .

Sean and Tucker and their ilk are entertainers whose employers pay to attract viewers and then advertisers. We saw after 1/6 that many of them knew at the time what was going on and tried to intervene. That they did not believe the script they were reading. That’s greed, and no matter what this will always be present. If there was more profit to be made by trumpeting progressive views they would do that.

Zero sum thinking is deciding anyone who is a Republican Party voter is full of hate. Is stupid. Is bad. I don’t agree. Are there hate filled people who vote Republican? Yes, of course. There are also hate filled Democrats. Independents.

When we reduce each other to a simple label, we lose the opportunity to broker solutions. What is it they say? All you have to do is convince the people holding pitchforks that the ones holding clubs want to take their pitchforks away. Like the Sneeches.

I have friends and family who are conservatives. Republicans. Trump or former Trump people. They’re not hate filled. Racist. Fascist. They’re not white supremacists. Not all of them are white. If they held any of those beliefs they would not be my friends or family.

They’re good people who formed their world view based on different life experiences and value systems. They respect that my views are different. Sometimes my view changes heating their thoughts. Sometimes their view changes, too. The thing is if they decided I’m a libtard and I decided they’re a MAGA Idiot then that’s where everything stops.

LBJ wanted to include in the 1968 Gun Control Act provisions for national registration of all firearms, and a shooter's license for all shooters, to prove they were responsible and legal..... There was push-back, and these measures were not in the final bill.
