On the Bulwark, fitting for a Navy man. Please treat us with a few pictures of TC in society. I'd love one with you holding 'Miss Manners" upside down. Know what I'm thinking, sure you do!
Have a good time, TC. As I explained, I can't join you because my oldest daughter is scheduled to deliver her second daughter (and our third grandchild) the next morning. We are on grandparents duty during the birth and recovery for my daughter.
If you get a chance to speak to Jonathan Last, please thank him for me. He may not remember me or my newsletter, but about a year and half ago, he recommended it to his readers, which brought a new group of readers to my newsletter. I frequently cite The Bulwark in my newsletter, especially Philip Rotner.
I already let them know I am coming and how, and they were mighty impressed that it was due to you. You are already "a force to be reckoned with" (surprise surprise) with them.
Love JVL's Triad and the podcast....Sarah, Tim, etc. Let them know of their many fans out here. So glad to see this network connected in this way, with a tip o' the hat to Mr. Hubbell, who brings calm to my late night/early morning reading. How thoughtful of him to provide the car service.
Miss Manners would say....Gentle Reader: I would concede that you should enjoy yourself whilst not withholding any of your beloved TC witticisms as you “venture back into society.”
I's a lawyer's service, so here in LA where they have all read The Lincoln Lawyer, it'll probably be a Lincoln Town Car. First time in my life I won't be the staffer in the front right seat.
the only cars worth having in this burg, famous for its horrible streets, is a Lincoln Town Car. I say this based on a lot of experience during the six months I worked as a private chauffeur in '82-'83. none of those expensive yuppie German cars are worth shit in Manhattan.
I hope you had a great evening TC. You certainly deserve it. My feline Friday ended up quite challenging. One of my kitties, Turtle, was not herself yesterday, then this evening she became very lethargic and when I tried to pick her up she yowled in pain. I took her to the vet and she had a temp and a white cell count of 80,000, high end of normal for a cat is 17,000. An ultrasound showed a large amount of free fluid in the abdomen. She had peritonitis and she had emergency surgery and found her abdomen full of fluid and pus. The worry was a perforated bowel, but it turned out the cause was an abscess in the omentum. They cleaned out the abdomen, put a drain in and she’s getting IV antibiotics. She’s stable now and her prognosis is good, but her blood pressure tanked several times and we almost lost her. I apologize for venting and feel like Debbie Downer, but hoping my fabulous feline friends understand. If it comes through, here is a picture of my very sweet Turtle.
Have now viewed the cats three times doing their version of Queen. What a great idea to post here. TC your most recent subscribers may not have seen the earlier Fabulous Feline Friday posts and the photos you included. I’d be very pleased for repeats. Enjoy you upcoming excursion!
You can access the archives here as a paid subscriber. Sorry there wasn't one yesterday, these days right now there's a lot of "distraction." But next Friday for sure.
What a treat to see the beautiful Turtle with her green eyes. Her photo instantly put a huge smile on my face and pure pleasure in my heart! How’s that for “telemedicine!” Thinking about you.
Thank you so much for sharing Bohemian Catsody! It is delightful! I will share it with my neighbor across the hall who is a cat person, too. I have been catsitting for him this whole week as he went on a speaking trip.
I'd be there in a second, except that I'm HERE. of course, since my feet don't work and I've stopped driving, I'd be in LA again without a car. but you DO have the car service. but I'm still here.
if I was able to come, we'd BOTH be venturing out into society after a long time being mostly home.
LOVE THIS! Thank You! The kitty that owns me is the one on the upper left. So wonderful that you are getting out to the Bulwark event! Many thanks to Robert Hubbell for the motivation. Enjoy! Then inspire us some more.

And thanks again. You're the best.

Congratulations Robert!
I am delighted to see you and TC are connected. This is quite an impressive and powerful community we have here!

Perfect!
Not to sound insensitive, but when one door shuts, another opens. Breathe. Enjoy.
Breaking Kitty News here On the Mountain. Tippy, 1 of the abdoned
kittens who has camped out under
my wheelchair ramp, has allowed
me to pet her 2 days in a row. She's
about 4 mos old now and contact is
good, 'cause very soon I'll snag her
and she's off to my vet. TC, are you
traveling in a sleek limo?😁😉

The BULWARK. Stepping up TC. We're proud of you. I get their
Substance every day.👍
😹They definitely do own us. But I’m a willing hostage. I love my captors!
Me too

Looking at the photo - what a sweetie! I'm so happy she's recovering.
Thank you all! I visited her this morning. She ate all of her food! Very good sign

Good kitty!
Next week. :-)
Sending light to Turtle and best wishes.
Thank you. I’m headed to the clinic to see her this morning.
Shes beautiful - hope she recovers soon. I know she will be glad to get HOME! Thinking good thoughts, Karen.
Currently awaiting access to view your sweet Turtle. I hope she recovers fully. Artemis sends purrs of healing. So would Apollo if he was awake.
Thank you Ally and Artemis. I think I just gave you access to the picture.
Thank Apollo too when he wakes up.
Done! Beautiful girl.

Turtle is gorgeous! I'm so glad she's on the mend.
Good one! Only one small glitch when Smurfie walked across my keyboard!!!
😅
Had to research The Bulwark. Sounds like an interesting evening. Enjoy!

Loved Bohemian Catsody! Shared it with my teenager while one of her two cats sat on both our laps and watched too. Good fun!

I'll take photos - and they wont be cellphone snapshots. :-)
Is it just me, or is the Bulwark link another link to the Catsody clip?
Seems that way,, doesnt it?
At 3am, my Katycat was intrigued by the meowing on the screen. What a delightful ditty. Wonderful that you are venturing out, savor every nanosecond
Bohemian Catsody was purrfect!! There have been other "covers' of that song (one of the best done by the Oregon Tuba Ensemble) but this was awesome.
Enjoy your "out in public" time!
So glad you are going to be able to go to this taping. Would love to go (so close), but have to work and wouldn't make it up to LA in time. Enjoy!
