Christian and Bridget with their now-former friend
Why am I unsurprised?
The woman who led an ultra-conservative movement against education in Florida, seeking to put gays back in the closet, turns out to have been engaged in a long-term, three-way lesbian relationship with a lover she shared with her husband, the state’s GOP chairman. The crusading co-founder of Moms For Liberty - who demand private Fundamentalist Christian school-style mores in public schools, from grades K-12 - now faces the ultimate public scrutiny of her sex life.
You can’t make this shit up no matter how hard you try, and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving pair of shitbirds if you planned it.
Christian Ziegler, Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, who was handpicked for the job by Ryan Tyson, a powerful DeSantis insider and lead pollster to Ron’s campaign, and his wife, Bridget Ziegler, the founder of the infamous Moms for Liberty, turn out to be two of a long-running threesome with another woman.
Carl Hiassen is banging his head against the wall, crying “Why couldn’t I have come up with this???”
The Zieglers are Florida GOP royalty, close friends, and allies of King Ron and Queen Casey DeSantis. They are always present at every possible event in the Floridumb GOP firmament. Prior to becoming head of the Floridumb GOP, Christian was a Sarasota County Commissioner who ran for office on a “family values” platform.
Good Christian bible-banger Bridget’s lesbian lover filed a complaint with the Sarasota Police Department on October 4, 2023, that Bridget’s husband Christian raped her on October 2, 2023.
The story gets significantly more complicated.
According to the woman’s complaint, she was involved in a consensual three-way sexual relationship with Christian and Bridget Ziegler, and Christian Ziegler recorded videos of the threesome having sex together.
The alleged rape took place when the accuser and Christian Ziegler were alone at her home, without Bridget Ziegler. It also involves violence because of course - we are talking about Southern Republican Fundamentalist Christian Conservatives.
It being Floridumb, where a news report of a man found running naked down a main street of a major city, as the meth lab where he lived with a woman who was both his first cousin and his parole officer explodes behind him would not be considered unusual, this story cranks the kink factor to 11.
Surprise surprise, both Zieglers are big time “family values” supporters. Bridget Ziegler is a full blown MAGA star. Not only is she a Moms for Liberty co-founder. She played a key role in the passage of Floridumb’s “Don’t Say Gay Law.” She’s also a major anti-trans activist and proponent of bringing “religious values” into public schools.
Ron DeSantis is a big fan of Bridget’s. He endorsed her when she ran for the Sarasota County School Board position she now holds. “Bridget Ziegler, we should have her in every county in Florida,” DeSantis said in one speech. “We have to do a better job in these school board races.” He appointed her last March to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District that oversees Disney’s sprawling Orlando resort, which DeSantis made a political target.
Yes, it’s always Republicans who display the most outrageous, exaggerated social conservative playacting outrage on gay rights, gay marriage, and divorce (yes, it’s was still a stigma with some socons now), adultery, and out-of-wedlock pregnancy who end up having dirty little secrets of their own.
It’s always projection.
Floridumb has a peculiar relationship with power, sex, and social conservatism. Florida’s senior mega-community, The Villages, is notoriously the home to more swingers and STDs per capita than anywhere in the known universe.
Rick Wilson describes Tallahassee as “a town where people with vast sums of money and the best-quality drugs in the world swim in a sea of hypocritical social conservatism. It’s excellent odds some of the same people eager to call every drag queen a pedophile on the floor of the Florida House left the Governor’s Club to have their asses professionally beaten by a dominatrix or to sleep with an escort tonight.”
The Florida Center for Government Accountability news outlet, the Florida Trident was first to , publish this story, based on information obtained from a heavily redacted police report and anonymous sources close to the investigation. Shortly after the story was published, the Sarasota Police Department released a copy of the report as well.
The details of the alleged sexual assault are disturbing on their face and are made even more insane by how deeply intertwined the characters involved are in not just Gov. Ron DeSantis’ political circle, but the national MAGA movement as well. The Florida Trident described the pair as “one of Florida’s top political power couples in the GOP.”
Per the Trident:
“Sources also corroborated that a search warrant was executed on Christian Ziegler’s cell phone and that investigators continue to conduct a forensic examination of the electronic device. Christian Ziegler is also alleged to have secretly videotaped the sexual encounters between the couple and the woman, sources said.”
Bridget Ziegler personally helped lay the groundwork for DeSantis’ Florida Parental Rights In Education Act (the “Don’t Say Gay” law) that disallows instruction on “sexual orientation or gender identity” in kindergarten through the third grade. She stood behind DeSantis as he signed the bill.
The group she co-founded in the name of “parental rights,” which is credited with banning school books featuring gay characters and Blacks confronting discrimination in a predominantly white society, has spread nationwide at a vertiginous rate: 300 chapters in 48 states in two years. Even in California, Moms for Liberty and supporters attempted to purge a social studies textbook that contained a biography of legendary San Francisco gay-rights leader Harvey Milk.
Ziegler has been a leading anti-trans activist and “critical race theory” opponent who has said her aim is to bring “religious values” into public schools which she claims are “indoctrination centers for the radical left.”
Currently, Bridget is a salaried vice president at the conservative Leadership Institute. At the Institute she oversees a school board training program that she said “teaches and trains moms and dads how to run for school board, win, and then govern!”
Christian Ziegler has longstanding ties to both DeSantis and former President Donald Trump, who called out Ziegler’s name in a recent speech earlier this month during the “Florida Freedom Summit” in Kissimmee and said he was doing a “fantastic job.”
In a written statement, Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried called for Christian Ziegler’s resignation.
“As leaders in the Florida GOP and Moms for Liberty, the Zieglers have made a habit out of attacking anything they perceive as going against ‘family values’ - be it reproductive rights or the existence of LGBTQ+ Floridians. The level of hypocrisy in this situation is stunning.”
DeSantis is now calling for the resignation of Christian Ziegler. “I don’t see how he can continue with that investigation ongoing given the gravity of those situations, and so I think that he should, I think he should step aside,” DeSantis told reporters Thursday night. “He’s innocent till proven guilty, but we just can’t have a party chair that is under that type of scrutiny.”
Both Zieglers campaigned to reelect DeSantis to the governorship last year, and just last month Christian Ziegler hosted DeSantis, former president Donald Trump and several other Republican presidential candidates at Florida’s Freedom Summit.
Bridget Ziegler, who has served on the Sarasota County School Board since 2014, is a leading advocate for the rights of conservative parents, and she opposes any teaching of critical race theory in the school system. She also helped write Florida’s “Parents’ Bill of Rights,” which served as a precursor to state legislation that limits discussion of LGBTQ+ topics in schools. She was endorsed by DeSantis during her reelection campaign for her school board position last year.
Florida’s Republican Party said in a statement that it “is aware of the allegations related to Chairman Christian Ziegler.” The party declined to comment further about an ongoing investigation.
The Republican Party of Sarasota County said in a statement that its members were “shocked and disappointed” about the allegations.
Tiffany Justice and Tina Descovich, who co-founded Moms for Liberty with Bridget Ziegler, said in a joint statement that Ziegler had previously stepped back from the organization’s leadership. The group’s spokeswoman, Sierra Kostick, confirmed that Bridget Ziegler retains a spot on the nonprofit organization’s advisory board.
Group sex and swinging as a lifestyle might be nonpartisan. But Democrats don’t pretend to hate gays - to legislate against them to score political points - while secretly inviting them to join the marital party.
Moms For Liberty is full of “Only Fans” rejects.
I love it when these self-righteous scum get pulled out from under their rock and exposed to the light of day.

And this makes me want to laugh my head off, but the hypocrisy makes me want to throw up 🤷♂️
It’s always these repressed Republican hypocrites caught with their figurative and actual pants down. And then comes a weeping ask for christian forgiveness.
