I tried this election cycle. Wow. Not good. Then again I live in Texas. But my original thought was correct. They're going to believe what they're going to believe regardless of facts.
In hindsight I realize how WW2 affected me. I was born in 1948 but for my father and his generation, it shaped their lives. I've seen every movie more than once. I've seen every documentary and watched the Rise of the Third Reich more than once. I've met the survivors and heard their stories. Remember how Germans changed from the inside? They were bombed into rubble.
Same story, but two years later, and I think we were better prepared to deal with Vietnam because of the lessons we learned from our parents. I have a hard time with movies of either war although I've watched them, because it is too real.
Ought to be reachable, but one must stretch out one's hands.

The line back (way back) in the day was "my mind's made up, don't confuse me with facts." Some things don't change until the change comes from inside.
