Omg. I couldn’t even make it half way through. I have nothing intelligent to say. I think I actually got stupider reading his vile drivel.

Can that fucker just hurry up and die? Maybe choke on his own narcissism?

You've got that right!

I was almost inclined to scold TC for cruelty by inflicting those horrible nauseating paragraphs on his faithful readers...but it is better that we know of the black slimy impulses, which purport to be thoughts, that squirm through tfg's so-called mind.

We MUST turn out and vote blue for the midterms in such numbers that no one--even evil old Rupert Murdoch--can be in doubt of this nation's emphatic rejection of this fascist fool and his copycat minions and lickspittle lackeys.

GUESS WHOSE HOUSE WAS RAIDED THIS MORNING?

‘Former President Donald J. Trump said on Monday that the F.B.I. had searched his Palm Beach, Fla., home and had broken open a safe — an account that, if accurate, would be a dramatic escalation in the various investigations into the former president.’

‘… maintaining it was an effort to stop him from running for president in 2024. “Such an assault could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries.”

“They even broke into my safe!” he wrote. “What is the difference between this and Watergate, where operatives broke into the Democrat National Committee?

“These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Mr. Trump said in the statement. “Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before,” Mr. Trump said.’ (NYTimes)

The walls are closing in on The Former Guy from all sides now - the DOJ, NY state's AG, possibly the NY District Attorney, the Jan. 6 committee, Georgia..... His time is coming - but then we have to deal with DeSantis, who is much worse, because he is not nuts but ambitious and cruel.....

The short answer is yes, Hale Irwiin. When tRump was elected, very first thought was well, the US really is as racist as I thought it might be. It is disheartening to see the demons gleefully pushing America backwards.

‘The President’s loud complaint to John Kelly one day was typical: “You fucking generals, why can’t you be like the German generals?”

“Which generals?” Kelly asked.

“The German generals in World War II,” ‘Trump responded.’

“You do know that they tried to kill Hitler three times and almost pulled it off?” Kelly said.

‘But, of course, Trump did not know that. “No, no, no, they were totally loyal to him,” the President replied. In his version of history, the generals of the Third Reich had been completely subservient to Hitler; this was the model he wanted for his military. Kelly told Trump that there were no such American generals, but the President was determined to test the proposition.’ (NewYorker)

That was then, and Trump plans to make it literally happen when he’s elected again for the third time in 2024.,

Meanwhile, here’s something that has been happening in the country that, perhaps, you haven’t heard much about yet.

'State Legislatures Are Torching Democracy'

'Even in moderate places like Ohio, gerrymandering has let unchecked Republicans pass extremist laws that could never make it through Congress.'

‘Longtime Ohio politicians have been shocked by the state’s transformation into a center of extremist legislation, not just on abortion but on such divisive issues as guns and transgender rights. Ted Strickland, a Democrat who served as governor between 2007 and 2011, told me, “The legislature is as barbaric, primitive, and Neanderthal as any in the country. ;...The story is similar in several other states with reputations for being moderate, such as Wisconsin and Pennsylvania: their legislatures have also begun proposing laws so far to the right that they could never be passed in the U.S. Congress.’

'Ohio’s law prohibits abortion after six weeks—or even earlier, if doctors can detect fetal cardiac activity—unless the mother is at risk of death or serious permanent injury. Dr. Bernard noted that the bill’s opponents had warned about the proposed restrictions’ potential effect on underage rape victims. “It was literally a hypothetical that was discussed,” she told me. Indeed, at a hearing on April 27th, a Democrat in the Ohio House, Richard Brown, declared that if a thirteen-year-old girl “was raped by a serial rapist . . . this bill would require this thirteen-year-old to carry this felon’s fetus.”

'The bill’s chief sponsor, State Representative Jean Schmidt, is an archconservative Republican who represents a district east of Cincinnati. At the hearing, she responded to Brown by arguing that the birth of a rapist’s baby would be “an opportunity.” She explained, “If a baby is created, it is a human life. . . . It is a shame that it happens. But there’s an opportunity for that woman, no matter how young or old she is, to make a determination about what she’s going to do to help that life be a productive human being.” The rapist’s offspring, she suggested, could grow up to “cure cancer.” (JaneMayer, NewYorker) For more about Ohio’s lower-depths, see link to the article below.

Why deny TC’s and Trump’s claims that the former president will run again? We all have examples of the horror chambers within the USA, the Republican Party and the MAGA millions, but we don’t know what the midterm elections will tell us, the next moves by the DOJ, revelations from House Committee’s 1/6 Investigation hearings or how fair and free our elections are going to be and a whole lot more..

TC and Trump could wrong about the former president running again. I remember that TC often says, ‘Don’t make any predictions!’

Good post Fern. I'm also hesitant to be cheerful, and remember trump saying: "it's amazing what you can get away with, if you are rich". - The German generals told their story of WW II in "We Were There" by military historian Basil Liddell Hart. If it hadn't been for Hitler they would not have let the British get away at Dunkerque, and they could have made an orderly retreat, with chance of winning, on the East front, if it hadn't been for Hitlers order to stay on taken territory till the last man. Reading this I got the feeling Hitler was taking some kind of revenge on the generals for himself as a little scared soldier in WW I; getting orders as that.

Here’s what I think. It’s been their plan all along. McConnell quiet. Rats starting to scurry again and jumping ship. Raid on his safe and padlocked basement? Use this as the crime to prevent him from running. Trump going down.

And then what?

Their heir apparent. DeSantis. Where all the money is going to make sure he gets re-elected as Governor. If anything, there will be candidates like Pompeo trying to pose some opposition. But DeSantis is their do-boy. No relief from the treason. And people flocking here to live in Florida like fleas jumping on a mongrel dog.

Hmmmph. It’s such utter drivel. I cannot stand stupid.

We in the United States are learning how dangerous it is to have a from of government that is based so much on the honor system..... When people of no honor come along, the system often has no defense. Discourse magazine had a fine article on how a 19th century Supreme Court gutted the first section of the 14th amendment, removing the intended protections for all the unenumerated rights people hold, even if they are not listed in the constitution. The founders would have been aghast. We now must codify everything we hold dear so politicians with bad intentions cannot get rid of them.

We all get them … big fingers, tiny targets, I had to mention it because the dates clearly spelled out that he had this in mind before he was elected. A smarter, more socially polished individual could have pulled it off right under our nose. I’m grateful to General Milley for staying with a job he detested, working respectfully for a President he didn’t respect, to save our democracy. We need to do our part and vote to keep him out. In all honesty, I don’t think he has the chops to pull it off. Historic polls are worthless. The anti science crowd diminished their numbers significantly during COVID. I think the J6 committee has exposed enough to turn “reasonable” Republicans from him … we need to bolster education and mental health.

Thanks TC for slogging through this mire to highlight the open threats being applauded. I went to https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/former-president-donald-trump-speaks-at-cpac-8-06-22-transcript

to peruse the wreckage, but I have a problem with it. Despite all the nonsensical bluster and openly seditious ravings, there are a suspiciously large number of sentences that actually have subjects and predicates, more or less in order. I can only surmise that this is a function of whatever speech to text software the site used. No way that His Lowness had that many instances of intact syntax. I can only imagine various computer chips saying "Screw it. Just make 'em into some kinda prose."
