Back in 2016, when Trump was touting his having graduated from Wharton School of Business, fact-checkers discovered that he had really only “audited” classes there, since his academic record wasn’t good enough for him to be accepted there, even with the far lower requirements of that time.
And then one of the Wharton professors whose classes Trump had audited, said for the record that “Donald Trump was the dumbest fucking student who ever walked in my classroom.”
After he left his position as White House Chief of Staff, John Kelly said that Trump was “the most willfully ignorant person I ever met in my life.”
Everyone got the chance to gag on his moron stupidity during the four years of his maladministration.
We’ve seen how no lawyer can ever let Trump be deposed for a lawsuit, and certainly cannot let him testify under oath, since the man cannot say five words without four of them being a lie.
But the recent news goes even further than all of that.
Donald Trump did an interview in the summer of 2021 with the two ghostwriters working on Mark Meadows “book” about his ten months as Trump’s punk, er, I mean Chief of Staff, and the guy who famously never uses email, or signs letters, who has complained when people took notes of what he was saying in a meeting, had a staffer who was recording the interview, which she had been doing for every interview he did in 2021 for books being written about him that year.
And lo and behold, in that recording, he talks about a plan to attack Iran that General Mark Milley had prepared by Trump’s order, which he acknowledges is “classified,” and says further that he cannot show it to the two writers because he does not have the authority to declassify the document so unfortunately he cannot show it to them. And this happened at Trump’s Bedminster golf club, not Mar A Lago.
There’s an interesting backstory to this. Apparently this interview took place a month after “A Very Stable Genius,” by Philip Rucker and Carol Leonnig was published. That book’s big reveal was how General Milley had taken steps no Chairman of the Joint Chiefs had ever been forced to consider taking, to stymie any attempt by Trump to start a war with Iran following his loss of the 2020 election. When the story came out, Milley got a lot of public support for having done so. And that enraged Trump.
Trump was enraged to see “his” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs become the hero of the story, and let his rage get the better of him. He tried to promote a story that it was Milley who had wanted to attack Iran and that he, Trump, had been the one who refused. He couldn’t help himself, he had to show that of course he was the “stable genius” he claimed to be.
But the recording clearly demonstrates in the way he told his story that he understood both the legal and security concerns around his possession of such restricted information, and it negates his many statements about his ability to declassify documents by removing them from his office, or even just thinking about it.
And Special Counsel Jack Smith now has that recording.
And every knowledgeable legal observer has, as of tonight, changed their prognostication regarding the Mar A Lago documents case from “if” Trump would be indicted to “when” he will be indicted.
As Lawrence O’Donnell pointed out last night, this means there are now three recordings of Trump incriminating himself: this Bedminster recording, the recording Alvin Bragg has of him discussing the payoff to Stormy Daniels, and the famous “I need to find 11,780 votes” recording made by Brad Raffensperger in the Georgia election case he’s about to be indicted on this coming August.
Donald Trump’s ego just bit his ass. The irony is delicious; the karma perfect.
Just how fucking stupid is he???

Someone else said something to the effect of it no longer being a "witch hunt" if we already have the witch, right?
I’m not sure humanity has ever found a descriptor for how stupid he really is, he was born wealthy, I think I read in the NYT years ago that his father started paying him 200K a year from the time he was born, if he had grown up like most of us he would probably have been murdered in prison a long time ago. Karma will come around and bite you when you least expect it, it’ll make a nice meal out of him🤷♂️
