I am thinking about Trump being “the worst person to ever exist in this country.” I concluded it is pretty close to spot on — with John Wilkes Booth being his closest competitor. I remain convinced Trump will suffer a total defeat, whether in the courts or at the ballot box. Either one will do for me, with a slight preference for his losing an election by a wide margin—and becoming finished in American politics.

I'd be OK with both defeats.

My thoughts exactly, why not both.

Not me. I want him to be kitchen aide at McDonalds to experience how real people get by

I just hope he eats one more - the fatal one.

I won't go *quite* that far -- his competition includes, among many others, every XY-chromosome person who went wild with an AR-15 and killed many innocent people. But if you'll limit the field to those who've affected U.S. history in a big way, IMO he's probably in the top 5.

He has the notable points of being the only American president to attempt an auto coup against the American government and to be credibly described as a traitor engaged in supporting the country's major enemy.

And has plenty of blood on his hands

AR-15 is horrifically deadly, but nearly a half million people died during covid due to his incompetence!

They're both nearly as despicable as the failed insurrectionist, that doesn't mean that either is as stupid.

Damn, I was sure one of the cretins would bail him out. Still bet somebody will if the appeal doesn’t work.

Surprisingly, there aren't that many people who have ready access to a half billion dollars in cash and there are even fewer who would put their asses and assets on the line for anyone as unstable as the failed insurrectionist. It's worth noting that no one has risked very much in real terms to support him.

MAGAts will send him their last dime it seems, may take a while for that to add up to half a bil

That's also sapping a major RNC donation source and, the way his legal fees are adding up, there won't be much left to campaign with.

I would be happy if he's so deranged by this latest defeat that he up and dies. Yes, I know, it would be fun to see him in prison, and even more fun if he could be put into a pillory on 5th avenue, to endure being egged, and otherwise humiliated by passers by. And whatever bad things happen to him before he dies--if they do--I'll certainly enjoy.

But the sooner he's no longer a part of this world, the sooner a better world it will be, and the sooner we will be better off for no longer having to think about him.

“the worst person to ever exist in this country.” I have many descriptors in my mind about trump, and this is perhaps the nicest way to say what I think.

This is sweet, this news is tasty, it's like a 100 year old single malt and a really fine cigar, this news is something to savor with good friends. The house of cards all built on lies has just encountered the first storm of a very long hurricane season, soon it will all be gone, swept as clean as a barrier island in the path of a category 5 storm. If he had had a brain, and that's a big if, he would have never run for political office with all of the scrutiny it entails, instead the brainless insipid clown thought that's a good idea, "I could be president and fleece the entire nation", maybe half of the nation but not all of us. Karma comes calling ;-)

I was thinking he might flee the country and head to Hungary, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, or Russia, but he'd have to learn another language and wouldn't get to dominate any of their media. Therefore, he'll stay here and continue to tear down a country that just doesn't love him enough. He's recruited platoons of poltroons who will yell on the sidelines, but will most likely not enter the fray because as long as Dark Brandon is still in the WH we're still a nation of laws, and they saw what happened to the other guys who thought they were brave, but were only felonous and foolhardy, although they may continue to make threats against agents of the law.

If bellowing, braying, and acrimony were dollars, Trump could definitely make bond.

"I have visions of Trump Tower coming down in one of those slo-mo dynamiting's where it collapses in on itself. With the wreckage left as a memorial to the worst person to ever exist in this country."

Tom, you're forgetting History's Yard Waste, Roy, J. Edgar, Father Coughlin, Billy Graham, Henry Ford and modern day assholes like Musk, Putin, MBS, Murdoch, the My Pillow fraud, and on down to the Coors family and billionaire sports owners who use taxpayer money to fund their playpens. None of who were a credible threat to end the American republic. Not that that lets them off the charges.

He was President of the United States and Commander in Chief. He is responsible for an insurrection and has acted like a traitor. He is responsible for hundreds of thousands of Covid deaths, which were grueling. He and his family used the White House to enrich themselves. His family is a criminal enterprise. This only touches on some of his evil. To me he is the worst person to exist in America.

True on all points.

Not sure they love MBS, but I take your point. The more U.S. history you know, the longer the list gets. Remember Jay Gould and the "robber barons"? How about Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and the rest of them whose legacy is hundreds of thousands of deaths, massive destruction -- and racist politics that threaten the republic to this day?

The market value of his assets is likely to see a precipitous decline if they are attached as part of a settlement or to support a bond. We might find out just how much he isn't worth.

Off topic, but is anyone familiar with https://rvat.org/. Republican Voters Against Trump. What’s their agenda?

That's a good organization. The founder is the woman at the Lincoln Project who is known for the focus groups she runs. They get former Trump voters to talk about why they now will not vote for him, and distribute those among Republican voters; those people being about the only ones the Trump voters would listen to.

Whee. I missed the part where we learned where the collateral for E Jean came from. I hope this puts paid to all the "Russian Chubb did a favor."

I posted this on Mary Trump's Substack--it is me being fiendish more than practical. But still...

*** *** ***

I have one sneaky suggestion. James could tell trump that for the amount a bond WOULD charge in premium were it collateralized, paid to New York, she will hold off on execution on real property to give him a chance to sell without a "fire sale." This amount would be non-refundable whether or not he wins the appeal (just as a surety premium would be) and would be in ADDITION to the judgement plus interest accrued by the time of the appeal, should the appeal fail.

She would file her judgment lien on any and all properties she can, just not execute on them. This would prevent trump from getting further loans that would further deplete equity but wouldn't affect his ability to sell--lien payoffs are part of any sale closing. Funds from any sale would be deposited with the court, but unless the full amount of the bond required, it would not stop further execution on assets should he fail to meet whatever conditions she imposes. Interest continues to accrue on the judgment (I've read it is about a million a day) which would be an incentive not to futz around with the appeal. Also note that appeal bond premiums are PER YEAR. This all would only apply to THIS appeal; he'd have to come up with a bond/cash to go further.

This means that NY would get at least 5 mill (I think 8% is high for full cash collateral, but this isn't quite that, so---up to 45 mill ) even IF they lose the appeal utterly. And if the appeal takes 3 years and then NY loses==it still gets 15 million or so, 5 mill per year (or at 8% 135 Mill).

The fiendish part is that trump would KNOW that NY and James are getting all this cash even if he wins. Can his poor widdle heart take any MORE stress???
