42% of America.....Regardless of Trump no country can be successful with that much of the population being unable to think!

Yep.

Did they really sell out? Or was that Trump's face-saving way to stop the embarrassing headlines? And the price-tag of the "negative PR value" to Trump was about $1 billion, so he is in the hole by $995,500,000. Not a good trade off.

Also, Twitter has lots of people saying things like, "I bought one and they sent it to my "wallet." What's my wallet?" If you have to ask, "What's my wallet?", you have no business buying an NFT (or owning a smartphone).

nobody knows. But the small print says that if you sell it to someone else, El Jefe gets 10 percent of that sale.

The fine print also says they have “no inherent monetary value”. I’d like to believe it’s probably a combo, family and the clueless, as others have indicated.

The moment the laughter stopped, indeed!! A penetrating analysis with numbers in hand---a bit of cold shower of reality, TC! Thanks. You are right---only when he is gone will the support be gone---but I'm sure then the National Enquirer will have more than one article of 'miracles' at his grave or elsewhere. The 42% won't vanish.......

Yes to all (I wish I was wrong).

Every day, I look for news of just that.

Although I know people can be that gullible and stupid, I want to think that most were bought by his family. As well as the RNC, like when they bought around $350,000 worth of tweeker junior’s books to get him on the best seller list. It’s just hard to wrap my head around that there are that many people still buying his grift. Wishful thinking I guess.

You & I were on the same wavelength!

Unf**kingbelievable. Every time that I think the joke can’t get any more cruel, he keeps punching. And the lovers of snake oil keep lapping up the poison. Well, you took the smirk off my face. Sure did enjoy for a couple of hours. Now the idiocy of the 40% is what grieves my soul.

“ I’ll consider Trumpism no longer a threat when the last Trump voter dies.”

Interesting What does the Bell Curve of the age of trump supporters look like?

How long do I have to live in order for the last of them to die off?

Here’s to healthy living and longevity to TC and Me (and everyone else who wants to join the challenge)

The old coots inhabit my assisted living facility in TX. I’m old, but not bat-shit crazy. The self-righteous insanity is mind-numbing

Can we redefine the term as “Right Righteous”?

It doesn't matter. 45 will be in prison. Jack Smith will put him there. Fanni Willis will put him there. It's the beginning of the end. His kids will flip on him. It's soon to be a Netflix documentary. I won't watch it.

There will be shots fired and there will be wailing and whining. But the NFT con man will be behind bars.

There is momentum at work here. There is the crushing combination of self incrimination and legal power about to step on him like an elephant on an ant.

We'll look back on the "MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT" with amusement. It's all over except the drama. Media frenzy. Talking heads babbling. No matter. The NYC real estate shyster is hitting the wall of justice. Everything he has created has failed. TFG will mean: The Failure Guy.

Holy S**t!

Just goes to prove that PT Barnum was right (with more than one quote!)

"No man ever went broke overestimating the ignorance of the American public."

Expand full comment

That was actually H.L. Mencken, commenting on the social insanity of the Scopes Monkey Trial 98 years ago. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute." Both are entirely apropos here.

Expand full comment

That didn't sound like PT Barnum, but was listed in the PT Barnum Quotes link that I checked. You can't trust anyone these days....

Expand full comment

was it actually the Scopes trial or was it a more general Menckenesque take on reality? the Barnum quote is one I've been hearing for, like, 70 years.

Expand full comment

The Mencken quote is dated to 1924, which is the year of the Scopes trial. If you have ever read even a little bit about it, you can see how appropriate it was and that Mencken "hit the nail on the head."

Sadly, these will mostly have been bought by Red friends and family who do not have a lot in discretionary fund. The Great Grif continues. BetsyC is right. Maybe there is a reason they are poor. They earned that status?

When I associated with repubs, it was clear that those with money bought stacks of right-wing nut books to pass around to all. Check the NYT best seller lists; it always has some crap from the right nuts, usually including O’Reilly. Chump did brag that he had made new rich friends. Some likely to fork over enough to buy him a new propaganda make over. Maybe Elon ordered them all…

Melania bought all of her own NFTs in that earlier "artistic" endeavour, apparently. I'm left wondering who just kicked a handout towards this bum.

Sad there are that many fools who spent their bucks being scammed by TFG. I have to wonder how many of these people were actually aware of what nft's are (or arent!)

They pronounce it “Nifts”. They don’t know what it is, can’t spell it out, but the Meme’s are really cool. Andy Kaufman is amused

Wondering if OpenSecrets will be able to find out and list who bought

Trump’s cards. Does SEC require

a person running for president to

for his base to kick in just before

Christmas.

It's personal income, not "campaign contributions."

on that blankchain thing too, aren't they, similar to bitcoin?

this just ruined my day.

trying to mitigate this ruination, I've been entertaining a conspiratorial "possibility" that maybe there was some kind of "agreement" with whomever to make sure the "cards" (big day for inverted commas, it seems) went as quickly as they did.

puh-leeze tell me this is possible, SOMEBODY.
