But Joe Biden has cognitive issues?

In keeping with that theme, "I'd give real money if he'd just shut up."

I usually don't donate to presidential campaigns, but I just gave another $50 of real money to Biden-Harris for just that reason.

Susanna, I did the same the night of the infamous debate.

According to the lamestream media, yes…and the Dems are going crazy over this manufactured controversy, just what the oligarchs controlling the networks and newspapers want. The Dems are so good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, aren’t they?

Yes but this time he can’t win.

Liz, you're too damn smart to fall for t he "elites" BS.

Which "he" are you referring to?

My question as well. I suspect she refers to President Biden but I disagree strongly! What is this - surrendering in advance?!!

Has anyone actually gamed out the complexities of selecting a winning alternate in time for the Democratic National Convention, then getting that alternate on ballots in 50 states in less than 4 months while trying to raise money for a political campaign? Listen to this and think long and hard about these questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPRxuOWkr1E

Trump is beatable, people. Work for it, and stop the Biden bashing.

“Then he said to me Sir, did you know you’re a fucking moron? Like nothing we’ve ever seen before?”

But Biden is the problem??? The Democrats trying to force him out look even more stupid.

You and Michael Steel should go out for drinks. :-)

He asked everyone who came on during their segment tonight, *This* is what the Democrtats are afraid they can't beat?

“Trump’s a guy who came inches from death,…”

Point of order: We don’t actually know that. No medical reports whatsoever. Until proven otherwise, it might as well be Corey’s blood on him. Oh, wait, Corey’s blood IS on him. Irony is not dead yet.

Thanks Tom, I watched the last 20 minutes, and that was more than I could stomach. As usual he was the 2nd rate ham actor he has always been. As I said before I was one of those weirdo kids who never liked circuses and clowns. I did enjoy to ice skating reviews. - I'd rather have watched one of those tonight.

I almost gagged when he somberly strolled over to the firefighter’s jacket and helmet of Cory C, who was killed at the rally, and kissed his helmet. What a vile man to use this man’s death as a prop. But not surprised. I listened to a little more of the speech, filled with lies and of no substance, before going back to reruns of Six Feet Under.

Wasn’t that disgusting? 🤮 If it wasn’t Trump, I wouldn’t believe my eyes. To desecrate that man’s personal property, the symbol of his sacrifice. Nauseating.

George Conway came on the MSNBC segment with Michael Steel and the rest of The Weekend, and said that he knows we will win because what we need to see to win is to see Trump in the flesh, in all the abomination he is, that we have forgotten since he left office and was exiled from social media.

I also thought it was a lifeless stump speech, mostly remarkable for what it did not include (like a national abortion ban, and much else on the Project 2025 agenda) - although he took some effort to hit the immigration hot-button issue - and really, what is this thing he has with Hannibal Lecter? Very creepy. He should not be allowed anywhere near the presidency.

Expand full comment

It's because he has no conscience and no soul, so Hannibal Lecter is the height of power to him. Insecure white men love the "unstoppable force" characters like him, or John Wick.

Kudos for keeping the fighting spirit alive in a media landscape where the so-called Fourth Estate is comprised of mindless armies of corporate sycophants doing their best to extinguish the flame of democracy, shred the Constitution and bury the American dream that so many in generations before us defended with their lives. We’re now facing the necessity of defending the idea of liberty and justice for all in accord with that line in the oath we swore that says “against all enemies foreign and domestic.” You have pointed this out many times. The GOP of Trump is not a legitimate political party anymore than a pile of dog shit is fit to run for the office of president. In case after case it has been demonstrated in courts of law that the GOP has become, as Robert Hubbell has often noted, a “domestic terrorist force” and as such is the enemy of the people and we must now arise in mass to that reality and do our duty as Americans.

In the Order of Battle, our first action should be in the non-violent arena of the November election in which we deploy our ballots metaphorically as artillery rounds, voting Democratic, as per Hubbell, "up and down the ballot,” in our effort to “secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.” If we should fail in that engagement, I fear it could mean hand-to-hand combat in the streets, so we must commit ourselves to the non-violent processes of democratic governance established by the rule of law and return to that vision of unity and "domestic tranquility" envisioned so eloquently by Thomas Jefferson and the other founders.

Barry Goldwater is saved!!!! That was beyond bad. Indescribable. It was I turned on the 'Dateline' channel bad.

I am once again so impressed with you Tom and your readers who watched the convention. I didn’t have enough high blood pressure pills on hand to even turn on the tv. I’m nauseous and angry just from reading your reports. If Biden’s campaign would stop asking for money and do something, we could go back to saving Democracy. Do something about the Supreme Court, put those xray machines at the border. That’s what executive orders are for. He just gave a speech at a totally empty desk! Some heads should roll Joe!! One picture is worth a million voters.

no way was I going to watch a minute of that so-called convention, but the speech is all people are talking about today. I'll take everyone's word that it was a nightmare.

a few hours ago, I was sitting in the waiting room of a diagnostic place, drinking the crappy barium before a CT scan. TFFF's speech came on the TV and I reflexively came out with a "fuck him." the lady sitting across from me was obviously not pleased with my response and began a longish conversation about whether or not she knew me "from the Village." I said it was possible and she mounted a build-up during which she asked me if it would help me if the Lubavicher Rebbe saida prayer for me. I thought "why not?" would be adequate, but she wouldn't stop and finally got to "you shouldn't curse people out because the words exist forever, etc. this was when I unloaded with various sentiments like "he should have had his fucking head blown off," etc. then Maya, the phlebotomist I've come to know on a first-name basis, whisked me off for the scan.

I actually sorta liked the woman. she meant well and I've gotten a lot more mellow on the Crazy Jew front (except for the Satmars, for whom I have nothing but hatred). but, to quote ee cummings, "there is some shit I will not eat."

I have watched none of the RNC feeding frenzy because I prefer actual boxing, the kind of fighting that follows rules and requires skills, chin and heart. What you've got with these magas is the equivalent of a four-day mud wrestling match among witches, warlocks, and weasels. The few clips I've seen confirm my judgment that just like rats, the magas must gnaw on something, anything or anybody, in order to keep their teeth from the kind of continuous growth that would make it difficult for them to eat. Now if the Dems can stop self-cannibalizing we can win. And by Zeus we must.

Dems need to stop trying to run a race with their shoes tied together. Stop splitting the base.

We have a great record on which to run, and the man who gave us that winning record, Joe Biden, to support.

To quote Pogo: "We have met the enemy, and he is us.". It was referring to litter in the comic, but the sentiment fits here as well.

I was too tired to wait to hear this kind of rant and while I sometimes leave msnbc on it’s mostly without the volume so if I’m reading or doing something else, I can look up and see if someone is on who I want to hear their voice. He is most definitely Hitler reincarnated as the worst option for this period of American history— I just hope Jill and Joe have come to the same conclusion as most of the Dem and that Joe passes the torch soon so they can create a winning ticket.

I was not going to sully my

brain, heart or soul by

watching any part of the

Trump Grand Finale last

night. Thank you, to all you

brave folks who girded your

loins and did.

I'll be busy today visiting the

websites for Pelosi, Jeffries,

Shifty Schiff, Schumer and

Obama. Leaving little

messages to STFU, only in

a nicer way. Look at the net

worth of each of these

people. Let them pay their

own way. They don't need our

stinking money.😁

Power and money corrupt

absolutely!
