BIG NEWS!Harry Littman, former FBI Legal counsel, former Deputy Attorney General, just pointed out on MSNBC that the crime Trump is being investigated for that prompted the search warrant raid on Mar-A-Lardo today - intentional destruction of official records - carries with conviction a disqualification from ever holding another federal office.
Observers have been noting ever since this issue first became public back in January that this is an “open and shut” kind of case. There are no “politics” involved, there is no need for a jury to examine Trump’s state of mind in order to determine his guilt.
If the records were taken, and there was no authorization to do so, the crime is committed.
This kind of case gets around all the worrisome issues of Trump as a candidate, and such. As such, these observers have been calling this Trump’s “Al Capones taxes” case.
It’s clear, it’s simple, it doesn’t depend on what he believed, and if convicted it solves the “Trump Problem.” His candidacy is over, whether he has announced it yet or not.
This is the kind of case that would be resolved within a matter of months of his arrest, and there wouldn’t be any grounds for appeal.
I’m fine with him being taken down for this rather than seditious conspiracy. Anything that stops him is fine with me.
I love that today is the 48th anniversary of Richard Nixon’s resignation of the Presidency. The irony is delicious. Mmmmmmm! Tasty!!

Exciting news! Oh, that would be such a clean way of getting rid of him. And there’s nothing stopping other indictments for conspiracies to commit sedition, fraud against the United States, etc.
I feel so hopeful I think I’ll use this as an excuse to open a bottle of Mcallen 25!
I was thinking that the FBI couldn’t get Capone on racketeering, murder, conspiracy, or bootlegging charges but got him on income tax evasion when the agency got his bookkeeper and the meticulous records that he kept. That got Capone in prison where he died years later from the effects of tertiary syphilis…if that happens to trump I wouldn’t shed a tear…
