OMG! I've had to throw up several times today already, so I've turned any and all "news" off. Talk about magical thinking! A crock full of doo doo.

Funny how articles brainstorming how Biden could do the same kinds of things have never never been written. If Biden had a similar near-brush, they'd be talking about how it hurts him, and how old he is, and somehow work 'frail' in as a concept too.

I wish to take a moment to say that the two shitbirds actually have a lot in common with David Broder. For example, he called Reagan untouchable. Is THAT why Democrats made big gains in the 1982 off-year elections? Is THAT why so many things he promised to do as president didn't happen? Please.

A Broder story. In his later years, when dementia was setting in, he did a column announcing that the Senate Democratic caucus would oust Harry Reid, whom he hated because Reid didn't fit his paradigm of Democrats who just took whatever republicans did to them. EVERY member of the caucus signed a letter to The Washington Post saying what Broder said was untrue. Broder's response was, they had to say that. I think that may have been the moment when I realized how utterly useless the press corpse--thank you, Brother Cleaver--really is. And with that ...

I wish to share a substack by a friend, Carrie Kaufman: https://carriekaufman.substack.com/p/the-white-house-press-corps-is-objectively

She is a veteran journalist. And she sees it.

Happened to watch a segment of that "press corp"????? acting like a flock of vultures attacking a prey animal - what a privilege! Ed O'Keefe should make a public apology on top of the one to the Press Secretary. We see this kind of predatory actions many times on issues - but really in the WHITE HOUSE?

And the so-called debate with the orange blob & Hilary? That was harassment by the biggest ASS in the room.

Considering what we are destined to go thru & hear about for 4 months after this little ding on an ear? Ridiculous - to put it mildly.

Ye Gods - words again escape me.

Did he even get shot? I still think it was glass from the teleprompter.

The press needs to realize that they’re at the top of the target list in Donald 2.0 land. I guess they don’t believe that could possibly be true.

Maggie's avatar

Yeah - I saw that earlier but the msm doesnt seem to pick it up, do they?

Also I do wonder if djt or his supporters have acknowledged the man that WAS killed or the two people who were injured - you know something a bit more serious than a ding on the ear or losing track of your shoes - but consider the source.

Yes, the shoes. Somewhere read that gunshot was responsible for shoes being knocked off. Huh?

Thank you. This insight into that useless press "corpse" confirms my gut feelings about those folks. I can't think of a single one I would listen to or believe; any respect I might have once had for them as "journalists" disappeared long ago. When I occasionally see them in action, I am reminded of a swarm of buzzards circling something they HOPE will be a carcass, and if it isn't already dead and ready for a meal, they plan to take matters into their own beaks. I really don't like buzzards, although I know they do have a job in the larger scheme of things. I just haven't yet figured out the job of the buzzards who attack Karine Jean-Pierre with such regularity.

The fact she's both gay and black is certain to have absolutely nothing to do with why they do it.

I think you are onto something Tom, snark not withstanding. If this is their "job," or "purpose" then might we assume they are puppets for the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025?

Really good -- and I was especially happy to read her analysis of the Dukakis campaign. I grew up in MA and moved back in the mid-80s in time to watch that particular political sh*tshow play out.

Please permit me to gallop in a disjointed way through this fantasy fiction piece since it's hard to maintain any coherent thread while screaming, gasping and throwing up in one's mouth a little, but just to hit a few of the points (no points made being high points): The doctors at the hospital never saw anything like this? A grown man at the hospital with a nicked ear? He's now pretending he's seen the light and mentioning God with every other breath? Gosh, that's so believable because, I mean, you can't do that if it's not real, right? Lightning or something? Tucker Carlson who we know is a fountain of truth says "getting shot in the face"... because now suddenly one's ear is on one's face: "Gentlemen in the line up, please turn sideways so the victim can observe your ears". From the article: "Imagine he gave a speech featuring something he rarely shows: humility"... but How? You can imagine me singing opera all you want, but I can't actually do it because the ability to sing is just something I don't have. He can pretend humility but it would come out as sour as my singing since he doesn't begin to have the ability to hit those notes and it would curdle him to have to act weak except when acting the petulant victim. He never had a legitimate moment to change before? RFK's followers are DEMs? Melania repeating a bunch of cliche platitudes unrelated to anything about 45 and his character at all really proves 45 has another side, a better side, a private side where he's a "gracious host, inquisitive, loves music and social media". Translation: He's got money for parties so long as he's making more than he's spending, he wants to know who is praising him and bashing him, again with parties and music (not Taylor Swift), and he watches TV and loves to smash his phone keys with his little thumbs. Ask the 13 and 14 year old girls about his parties and how gracious a host he is. Ugh. This is so completely ridiculous it proves the point of comedians who have said 45's presidency made satire damn near impossible due to surpassing anything anyone could dream up for ridiculousness. I have to go brush my teeth now.

Anybody who thinks chump can change is just flat out stupid. The cretin is what he always was, is now, and forever will be. Duh any moron who buys the idea that anything could make him over. That includes the Jesus that he mocks constantly. Sorry, but the truth is the truth til the day his head really explodes…

For a long time I subscribed to the Axios newsletters because they gave a nice succinct list of "what just happened." I've cancelled them now (I never did the "plus" subscription) because Mike Allen is absolutely insufferable.

I still subscribe to my local city version. This being Seattle, its writers are far away from the Allen World.
