“Nothing in his life became him like the leaving of it”
— Malcolm Macduff, “MacBeth,” Act 4 Scene 3
In case you didn’t see it - watch it.
If you want to know what kind of person someone is, watch what they do when they do the hardest thing, the most difficult thing, the thing they most would want not to do.
That’s the ultimate character test.
Joe Biden wasn’t my choice the first two times he ran for president. When he ran a third time, it seemed he would still not be a choice.
But he persevered, and demonstrated the time was his, that his time was now. And I was proud to vote for him in November 2020.
And then he became the most important president in my life since Lyndon Johnson and Harry Truman.
And tonight he became a president for the ages.
And he told us something important. The future is ours to make. Ours.
Joe Biden is right: America can do anything. When we do it together.

Agreed. One of the under appreciated aspects of his presidency was not being in our face all the time. Days would go by without much from him, but the work of the nation went on. It was nice.
I have a tear in my eyes and a song on my mind (That Would be Enough) from Hamilton:
"Look around, look around at how lucky we are
To be alive right now
Look around, look around..."
Joe Biden is the best of America. Country over personal ambition. His decision to ask Kamala Harris to be his running mate in 2020 will go down in history as one of his best strategic choices ever.
