Just so all of you know, there will be a minimum of posts between now and Tuesday night, That’s because at 10:30 tomorrow (Sunday) morning, Jurate’s older sister is showing up for what will likely be the last time they are together. She hasn’t seen Jurate since the trip they took to Europe in 2018 just before Jurate got the Parkinson’s diagnosis. This has meant that the picture in her mind has been her sister as she was, and I have butted heads with her over the ways Jurate now has become. Hopefully, seeing her now, big sis will finally “get it” and we can not only write a peace treaty, but sign an alliance to work together for Jurate’s peace of mind in whatever time is remaining. Which isn’t going to be much - when the RN came by on Friday, he hadn’t seen her in two weeks, and his response to the decline that has happened in those two weeks was to tell me he will be coming by once a week from here on.
Wish me luck. It’s going to be important to get this straightened out.
NEWS UPDATE: She arrived, we met nicely. Things are going well - the two of them are talking and I am giving them their space.
UPDATE SUNDAY NIGHT: There’s nothing like Reality coming along and planting a Size Ten in the middle of one’s posterior to do a “Wake Up.” After spending 9 hours with Jurate, feeding her her lunch and supper, talking to her, holding her hand, putting in the effort to both hear and understand her (with me staying out of the way and letting them just be), she said to me when I helped her out to the cab this evening, “You were right, there’s no way she could do the things I thought should be done.” So now I think after the hospice doctor comes over and meets with her and answers her questions, that a Treaty of Alliance can be signed.
Comments are still for the paid subscribers because of the trolls.
Tom, I will be thinking of you, Jurate and her sister, with the hope that there is comfort in the reunion. Many will be keeping you three in their hearts.
Peace and strength of mind to you and those who are close.
May you see each other with new light.
