A video I saw today said that just in the last six months, ICE agents had detained 2300 US citizens in violation of their civil rights, far more than I had thought. I have an evil suggestion - a future Democratic administration should pass legislation that every undocumented immigrant whose civil rights were violated by ICE (racial profiling, no warrants, etc.) would receive a green card and a path to US citizenship as recompense for the violations, thus countering most of ICE's efforts to break the law to create terror and harm people.
I can endure the recounting of 47's ugly rants only because I don't have to see his ugly catcher's mitt face. His arch will not get made for dozens of reasons I can think of, but letting him build one with Legos off in the crafts room might keep him busy long enough for someone to switch his phone with a garage door opener.

I despaired when Trump was elected again because I was sure America had lost its soul, but now I think we will find it again in our streets. Being in the hunt and being visible sends a message, not just to the reigning thugs, but to our former allies so they won't lose their last vestiges of hope for our return to sanity.

Regarding the movie: Hunter Walker at Talking Point Memo has girded his loins and taken himself to a viewing. Twelve people were there. Before it started someone stood up and asked "Is anyone here not a reporter?" One lady answered she was not and explained why she was there (she was friends with a designer who was in it) and washed her ands of the rest of it. The girls at the concession stand were having none of it at all. (A Melania popcorn was cup was $13.)
Walker describes the movie as "almost aggressively uninsightful".
Well, I have to admit that that were several laugh out loud moments along with the outrage. You are certainly up to the Oscar Wildesque task here. Every time I read that insipid “thank you for your attention to this matter” it reinforces my belief that he is the most socially ignorant man on the planet. He thinks that gives him cover for whatever evil precedes it. How vapid can one be. And who is impressed, those with an IQ in the single digits. His “aren’t I clever crap” is just so juvenile, and “smart” people are slurping his shit with gusto. Diagnosable. Sorry for the rant.
This severe case of arrested development will scrape the bottom of the barrel to destroy our capitol and environs with his building monstrosities and his race to hell. What better analogy for the acceleration of destruction than an INDY race through our revered spaces. I often wonder if there are “consultants” whose job it is focuses on the worst that can be done for as long as it can be maintained, with the maximum damage possible. Or, does the evil exude from his playpen grievances alone. He does have master splinter skills in cruel revenge. The “pro-trump prosecutor” things seems like a parody, or cruel joke, but as you mentioned one time, clowns in power can still kill you. We can only dream that local police will separate themselves from the thugs instead of aligning with them. Many already did the latter but one hopes for more like Grochow. The siphoning of our treasury and the crypto scam is as serious as a heart attack. He will skin us and barely leave a skeleton. Out in the open and with bravado. As to his lawsuit, he promised to release tax returns as I recall. But never did. Who will confront his lies.

Home at last and driving successfully. Perfect timing for the African American Composer Initiative concerts, today and tomorrow both. My dear husband attended in 2017 and he’d only been home two weeks after being gone five months because of the stroke. So I had to show I could do the same, with him in mind, only discharged yesterday. I’ll include a link to their homepage where I believe their past concerts are available for viewing. This year marks year 15. All proceeds go to the school: Eastside College Prep high school.
There are times I miss Southern California and certainly tomorrow is one of them… Would be so cool to attend the Hubbell event. Enjoy yourself, Tom, as I’m sure everyone will. So generous of them.
