And if someone interacted with them, they never let on who they were. I first encountered Taughm and Peter in the fall of '06. It was a chilly day and they were hanging out with their cigars outside the Paradiso cafe in Harvard Square. I had no idea that one of the people I was talking to was a car talk guy. I asked them if I could take their picture smoking (I have hundreds of photos of people smoking) and they said Sure! I got a great shot of them.
Then, a couple of months later I sat with Taughm and Ray at a Motor Press Xmas party, not realizing that I'd met Taughm once already (and I don't think Taughm recognized me).
Several weeks later, I was in the Paradiso, and Taughm came walking in with a few other people. I quickly realized it was Taughm, and then I realized that Taughm was one of the guys I'd photographed smoking!
I'm also a native, although I spent half of my post-university adulthood in DC, and my first four years in Seattle, minus the two months in Boston after I was born there. (I was conceived in Seattle. Are you still a New Englander? (I used to get so nostalgic over the accent when I lived in DC!)
I’m in Florida…sigh. Born and raised in RI and moved here after college. My Rhode Island-ese comes out when I’m around family or have a brew or two…not to be confused with a drink from the bubble-uh ! 😜

I do love the Boston accents!
Yeah, the car talk guys were great. And their advice was good. I loved the law firm: Dewey, Cheatham & Howe.
This native New England-uh loved your story!

I have a "use yah blinkah" bumper sticker on my car.
Where's the laugh emoji?
You sure you don't mean Bubbeleh? (Sweetie in Yiddish.)
