Mike Johnson is a piece of shit. An evil, lying piece of shit. Refuses to fund additional monies and then lies about the reaponse. Kamala confirmed Ron DeSantis won't take her calls. He could care less if Floridians suffer. God, these people are the absolute worst.

As hurricane Milton approaches Florida as a CAT 5🌀, we’ll be battling another storm of disinfo. Here is what’s happening:

DeSantis “is abandoning Operation Blue Ridge, leaving the recovery mission in what he calls “Florida North” to the locals.”

https://floridapolitics.com/archives/699922-desantis-blue-ridge-over/

“DeSantis orders no suspensions, no limits on gun sales during storm.”

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/2024/10/06/florida-desantis-hurricane-milton-guns/?share=

Milton has been very unpredictable and is a monster approaching our west coast...and much of Florida. Kevin Guthrie, Fl Director of Emergency Mgt said today…”Models are models. Science is science”. I’m going to frame those words !

Please stay safe, fellow Floridians ! 💙

Since we can't do that, stay safe!

Meanwhile...over at CBS, Bill Whitaker presses Vice President Harris about her economic plans by telling her "but in the real world, how are you going to get this through Congress?" The misogynistic, condescending, tone all these so called reporters take with her pisses me off to no end. Once, just once I'd like someone to press that fat f**king lying piece of sh*t like they do her. Why isn't someone pressing him about all the verifiable lies he's telling about EVERYTHING!

Probably not only because they're sexist jerks and sanewash 45 in their own minds, but also because they just don't get anything useful out of him. If you have two helpers and one grumbles and is slow and one just gets it done, which one do you ask the most often? Sure, you Know you should push them equally to help, but it just is too little result for the effort so you ask the one who will give you at least some reasonable result even if you are going to pick on how well they did it.

If Speaker Johnson wasn't so stupid and inept, I would suggest that he be outfitted and dropped into one of the hardest hit, most remote areas to work alongside the FEMA workers to support the monumental effort going on. His ignorance and lack of understanding of both the scale of the damage and the rescue/cleanup efforts is unforgivable. He should be ashamed of himself and he should be held accountable for the damage his jaw-flapping will cause!

Boyoboyo, these rugged individualists sure stink and fall over like bags of rotten potatoes when real trouble like war or natural disaster come along, don't they? They decry the mommie state and its manifestations like FEMA, DOE, DHHS, etc. until they need help themselves. The GOP governors know they are not equipped to handle these events by themselves, just as they can't raise effective individual standing armies, so they are doing right by their people in showing some gratitude for the feds' help of emergency issuance of $750 each for immediate needs and up to $42,500* for rebuilding (This limit set by Congress.), search and rescue, and trained military on the ground. What other country does so much for victims? * You can buy a small house from Amazon for this amount. Immigrants will work cheap to help set it up.

As insidious as this all is, we keep realizing that this really is the war being waged for our attention, our beliefs, our faith, our votes, our ability to trust or help or be kind to our fellow human being. And so it is also our time to toss this nonsense out of the loud noisy constant distraction that it is. We are learning to recognize the lies faster because that is all it is, just a constant flow of lies aimed at rendering humanity disgusted and numb and cynical and then powerless. WE ARE NOT ALL THAT STUPID!! I am so grateful for the voices speaking out against all this garbage. I also think that dementia is such perfect karma for these folks! Argh....

We have a Cat 5 hurricane, Milton, with 180 MPH wind and potential 12 foot storm surge barreling toward us in the most densely populated county in the state. We’re still recovering from deadly and historic flooding from Helene barely two weeks ago. 500,000 people are now under mandatory evacuation in our county which is a peninsula with few roads in or out. Roads are gridlocked. Caravans of dump trucks escorted by police are racing to remove debris from Helene before Milton turns it into missiles. We’re boarding up people’s windows with what ever scrap wood we can find. Those of us in non flood zones are taking in friends, family and neighbors, pets and all. I’ve lived here most of my life and these two storms are the worst to hit our area in 100 years. People are terrified.

It’s all hands on deck and neighbors are helping neighbors. We use Nextdoor to share info, supplies and help. In the midst of this real tragedy, idiots are posting lies about FEMA and accusing Democrats of creating this storm to win the election. I’ve clapped back at a few of them in red hot anger. They are repeating lies from their “dear leader”. I’m beyond disgusted.

I am beyond frustrated with this level of “civil” discourse. These maga sycophants lie, and lie and lie, and in many cases they are stupid and easily debunked lies. So, why can’t they straight up be called out as “LIES”, quit tap dancing around the lies, stop being polite about it and call them lies. Maybe on the floor of congress there are rules about civility, but that does not hold true for outside those confines. If DonOld and his posse can capture media coverage for their lies then there should be a counter narrative right next to them. If they have 5 people spewing “alternative facts” then Democrats should have 5 people sharing the truth, with receipts. Don’t give them any breathing room, stay right up in their faces, get into good trouble. And that is my rant for the day! Sorry about that but I just feel a little better now.

I keep seeing that the lies are actually hurting people but sometimes it needs to be spelled out. If people are told that $750 is the most being offered, they will request and receive that amount and not look into it further. People have limited time and access to information and some may be fearful of attempting to get more than their top authorized amount. There is a reason that helping folks put in requests and fill out paperwork is usually part of relief efforts.

Any one who spreads such lies and deliberate disinformation for political gain should be...well, if I say what I feel, I'll get into trouble with the pearl-clutchers'. The Repubs are going so low they couldn't reach whale shit if they used a man-lift. The MAGA repubs are already in the Marianas Trench, they are so effing low. And as for little Mikey Johnson he needs to have some duct tape applied to his smirking little face. Nostrils and all. Johnson, Leon and slob Donny are utter scum. Well, they all are scum at heart, but at least some are a bit more honest than Trump, Johnson and Musk.
