The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has ordered the dismissal of former President Trump’s civil lawsuit challenging the seizure of government records at Mar-a-Lago.
I wish you wouldn't cast aspersions on a certain part of the human body. The derriere evolved so that H. sapiens could run (along with the nuchal ligament that holds the head steady during running and the Achilles tendon and relative body hairlessness). No other primate has buttocks, and no other primate runs.
This enabled our hunter-gatherer ancestors to chase prey animals for miles, and hours, as Harvard's Danny Lieberman and his collaborators have shown. Additionally, somewhere in our evolutionary history, the derriere became a secondary sex characteristic in both sexes. With that in mind, need I say that it can be quite attractive, and it looms large in human sexual behavior. It seems only fitting that it should be treated with respect.
Moreover, making fun of someone's name does not damage them in any way, and perhaps even suggests a lack of power among those who try to devalue certain bad people by doing so.
Also, there is at least one good Trump--Mary L. Trump, DT's niece, a psychologist who wrote a terrific book about the pathology in the family that created DT.
Love it! Wanted to be an anthropologist ever since I my folks bought a set of encyclopedias that showed our evolution from fish to squirrel to ape to WHITE man!
Deary Dearie me! Oh to be a fly on the wall when the special master's invoice arrives. Icing on the humble-pie cake. What will he do - rip it up, eat it, flush it, or infarct?
I’m trying to be buoyed by this news. I just cannot get Ukrainians out of my mind shivering in the cold and trying to merely live. The map you posted showing places lit and places dark is such a stark reminder of how fortunate we are in regards to “comfort of our homes”. Well, not in Texas, but still comfort against the winter freeze is prevalent in the US. People wonder at how resourceful the Ukrainian people are. It’s the same with poverty culture in America. Problem solvers, help your neighbor, stay in the moment. Was true of all my students from homes that functioned through poverty. Their resourcefulness is their greatest, stupendous resource.
Loosey goose Cannon does not compare favorably to the value of integrity. She must be Stefanik’s twin somehow. I hope she chokes on her false sense of authority masked by arrogance. I loathe both of those simpering mouthpieces for MAGAtVille.
“simpering mouthpieces for MAGAtVille.” How perfectly descriptive, and there are way more than two. If only MSM would be as bold. You almost match TC in your descriptive verbiage (best definition).
The Ukrainians should not be left to the slaughter, as republicans would have it. Wish my resources for donations had not hit rock bottom.
Maybe $ for donations has been tapped for many, but not our words and deeds for democracy. Every time I listen to someone talking about support for Ukraine unfavorably ….especially in the midst of feeding their face… I get out the blistering iron and halt all semblance of a civilized meal.
Download of the 11th's decision is available on their website. Excellent ruling and thank you, TC for the factual report. I sincerely hope DOJ and Jack Smith are moving in the background to consider Trump a flight risk as these doors keep closing on him.Especially with all the Saudi billions he and his family have raked in. My tea leaves are
I’m stunned. I mean, it’s a pleasant feeling, but one gets so used to The Orange One skating by, dodging bullets, being handed victories on a silver platter--just because he claims to he rich--that seeing a dose of reality handed out--a genuine naked emperor moment--just leaves me grinning in stunned silence. Which is what I’ve been doing in the hour since I read TC’s essay. 😁
11th Circuit Court of Appeals spelled out our Rule of Law.
'To create a special exception here would defy our nation's foundation principle that our law applies 'to all, without regard to numbers, wealth or rank'.
'The appeals court decision singled out for particular scorn the notion of special treatment for former presidents. The court said that the case asked them to either “apply our usual test” or “carve out an unprecedented exception in our law for former presidents.” (TC)
“We choose the first option.”
'The appeals court was sharply critical of the decision in September by Judge Aileen M. Cannon, a Trump appointee, to intervene in the case. It said that Judge Cannon never had legitimate jurisdiction to order the review or bar investigators from using the files, and that there was no justification for treating Mr. Trump differently than any other target of a search warrant.'
“It is indeed extraordinary for a warrant to be executed at the home of a former president — but not in a way that affects our legal analysis or otherwise gives the judiciary license to interfere in an ongoing investigation,” the court wrote.
'Limits on when courts can interfere with a criminal investigation “apply no matter who the government is investigating,” it added. “To create a special exception here would defy our nation’s foundational principle that our law applies ‘to all, without regard to numbers, wealth, or rank.’” (TC)
The court spelled spelled out our Rule of Law, and it cannot be repeated often enough.

what always amazed me about Cannon is that she got to be a judge in the first place...I would have thought that some demonstration of competence would be required for a lawyer to become a Federal judge. the operative phrase in that last sentence is, obviously, "would have thought." I guess she's a perfect example of why TFF was in such a hurry to appoint "his" judges. thing is, two of the Eleventh Circuit judges are judges he actually appointed. so not ALL of his appointments were the legal equivalent of those puddles of plastic puke we used to send for when we saw the ads on the back of S comic books. you know, the places that also peddled whoopee cushions and joy buzzers (which NEVER worked).
this is good news. the bad news is that Cannon won the miserable prick three months. I'd love to assume that the last few days of serial legal defeats presaged the whole edifice collapsing like the house of cards it's always been. but whenever I've assumed things like that....anyone here can finish the sentence.
Yes! "puddles of plastic puke" , and, ya, the whoopee cushions were worthless! Like Cannon. Except she's superb at obstructing justice. Charges to follow?
actually, the whoopee cushions really DID work...it's just that I had higher expectations for them (the ad promised "embarrassing sounds," which sounded really exotic). but I could write pages and pages on the kinds of trouble I got into by answering those back-of-comic ads...especially the "free stamps for your collection."
Whelp, that was the mother of all bitch-slaps to both TFG and Loose Cannon. Pity they didn't read their opinion so we could hear the derision and contempt dripping off the carefully proper words.
I sure enjoyed reading your post today! Regarding the "special" references in this case, I'd be interested in knowing if Donald or members of his family have bought or married into some decadent royal family's herald. His wife is from Nova Mesto, Sovania, which maintains good relations with Russia. The national coat of arms of Slovenias Coat of Arms defines three stars that represent the Counts of Celje, Triglav mountain and Adriatic sea. Most of the territory of present-day Slovenia became a hereditary land of the Habsburg monarchy. When the current king of Europe (yes there is one) dies or resigns, there will be, and probably is right now, a mad scramble to determine the new king. And even if it's not officially recognized by European governments, you better believe some of the royalty in Europe (and Mexico) are serious about it and never give up.

May be too much to hope for but wouldn’t it be sweet to see Cannon impeached.
Or discover she has a shred of integrity and resigns?
WAAHOOO!! TAKE THAT T-RUMP!!!
AMERICAN JUSTICE RETURNS!!!
Once again, THANK YOU TC!!!
[Sharing this great news!!]

All joking aside, this is fascinating info! Thanks.
You're welcome! Human evolution is fascinating.

Thanks for the clear analysis, TC. What a relief to read this---the rule of law still stands and foolishness stands revealed in bright daylight!
And it’s especially sweet that two of the judges were appointed by Trump. The third by Bush I believe. Imagine the outrage at Mar-a-Lago.
Delightful and soothing information. Thank you, TC.

Yes, at least remove his airplane from his control - at a minimum.

I'm doing my happy dance!!! I will do a happy ballet when little donnie goes to the slammer.
Yippee , skippy do! The boat of Justice for all has missed the rocks and is sailing on. So , (as they say in my adopted county), SO VERY CHUFFED am I.
As succinct and to the point as the ruling itself. Thanks TC.
