It’s impossible for me to be encouraged by this Epstein tempest. All it does is illustrate how broken our priorities are and how dysfunctional our country has become. MAGA is outraged about this old crime while applauding current cruelty to immigrants and cutting essential food and medical care to women and children. Not to mention dismantling weather forecasting, education and green initiatives. I feel sick at heart.

The system, especially priorities, is damaged, but the primary concern at this point has to be getting rid of Trump and his cult and if the Epstein files are the tool that gets the job done, that's what we have to use. We should also recognize that some Democratic players may be caught in the net, and we might end up with a much cleaner political world for a while.

Perhaps, but, it does nothing to cure the extreme wealth inequality that destroys democracy.

Quite right, it's no more than a band-aid remedy to the immediate problem. We're also confronted with the need to build a working and effective majority in Congress and elect a competent and energetic President so that the major changes needed are susceptible of getting done.

If the files are loaded with the names of the wealthy, which they probably are because so many of them are reportedly in the sexual adventure class, the magas might, just might make the connection to the bill that just passed that gave the wealthy even more wealth. They just might see the deviant privileges the many of the wealthy expect and receive at the magas' own expense.

The MAGA-ots are outraged because it doesn't feed the narrative. They're also scared shitless that El Guapo of Queens is in it. If Lauren "I groupe men in a theater" Boebert wants there to be a Special Prosecutor, then the Golf Commander-in-Cheat is in deep do-do.

So now Donnie TACO has added Donnie Cotton Candy to his resume and all we're waiting for is the pictures. As with so many other situations where Trumplethinskin has insisted that evidence in his possession would completely exonerate him but it won't be released because of the "sensitive nature" of the contents, if he was, for a rare change, telling the truth, he'd have the files out in both digital and anime versions so his followers could understand it.

"And he’ll have no one to listen to his tale of how he has again been victimized by those who fail to see his greatness." Rumor has it that Satan is a good listener and Trump will have a long time to explain it to him.

With respect, when the files are released and Trump is shown to be a pedophile, MAGA will rise in unison to claim it’s a Democratic hoax, because MAGA is expecting to learn from the files that only big name Democrats are the pedophiles.

Maybe most of them, but some won't. We win at the margins.

We might even get some of the formerly mainstream media back on the job. I'm not optimistic about it, but hopeful.

Doubtful at best, and untrustworthy even if it appeared to happen. The new media, like Substack, will continue to be the most valuable method of communication.

As someone who's investigated this type of crime for over 13 years, I'd say a lot of people know a lot of things about what was happening on that island, including other enablers besides Maxwell, such as the Lolita pilot, the maintenance staff, non-participating guests, etc. Had it been a spy v. spy honeypot operation, Epstein would have left the country and not ended up dead in a prison cell. Acosta, the lawyer who got Epstein a light sentence, was rewarded by Trump45 with a job as head of Labor. There are things an investigator or Congress can ask Acosta that wouldn't run afoul of attorney/client privilege. Of course, the crocodile-filled moat around all this protects the perps, who know people who know people. A real investigation of where-there's-smoke here will result in, among other things, a lot of people looking soot covered.

I am so utterly sick of this guy and his regime. I think they are all nuts. They appear to be running out of scapegoats. We'll see what happens. All they seem capable of doing is playing the blame game while pissing everyone else off.

This is quite possibly the least surprising thing ever and it’s so stupid you can’t help but laugh at how completely insane this country has become that it took this to finally put a (seeming) chink in Donny taco’s armor.

My opinion for a long time regarding the Epstein stuff is that high-level people of every political persuasion have collectively decided that the release of any of this would be bad for all of them. If you consider the fact that every property Epstein owned was wired with video and audio feeds in the fucking 1990’s, the rumors of his involvement with the IC (whether American or Israeli or whomever) look a lot more plausible. And well, since there were all these hidden cameras everywhere, there’s got to be tons of video that the government seized - and in the hands of who the hell knows too. I had assumed that the *list* was actually being compiled by identifying people in the videos. Guess not.

My concern with this

fiasco are the changes

that could be taking

place to all these files

and videos. We've

already learned how the

E suicide video was

changed by nearly 3

minutes of missing

video. Still, it's good to

see MAGAts ticked off at

dear leader.

For the record, I

wouldn't trust any

special counsel out of

this DoInjustice.

I think Trump is pissed at Epstein’s getting more airtime than he is. And he will keep trying to get the attention back on him self and hopefully shoot himself in the foot. Or both feet or even the balls.

Well, you need a socialist revolution for that - the ruling class under capitalism won't give up their wealth and power easily, and they have government, courts, and media in their back pocket.
