Pretty close. The overwhelming majority of Russians get their news from the state TV. Have you not seen the stories of people in Kyiv trying to convince their parents in Moscow what is happening and having the parent tell them the Russian troops are providing Ukraine with food and clothing?
I wish it was otherwise, but if the Russian "opposition" is as big as 5% of the Russian population, that would be about ten times bigger than I think it is. And led by an idiot who came back to Russia to go to prison - when he could have remained outside where he could have done something useful? Sorry, the Russian "opposition" is about as useful as the Kerensky government was between March-November 1917. I had to turn off all but two of the Russians I know, because they're deeper in the doo-doo than the average Trumpmoron.
MaryPat, Imagine social media, which has so successfully spread disinformation and conspiracies here delivering the truth to Russians -- very hard to envision. I also think 'fear' which the Russians are fed from birth may be almost impossible to reverse. The MAGA millions, have an alternate reality that they do not want to give up. It suits their white supremacy, victim identity.
