If'n Amy Coney Barrett is the originalist she says she is, then she should reject her own appointment to the court since everyone knows that women were not part of the citizenry for which the Constitution was created.

We're headed for another civil war and the dissolution of the union. That may well be long overdue. It will get very ugly before it gets better, and the better may mean new nations emerge from the rubble.

I can see us moving toward another civil war. This time will be a lot more complicated, without uniforms or any distinct division of territory. Urban vs Rural in each state? Camo and what? Not to mention that the Democrats will be vastly outgunned.

We need more people to wake up and see the ramifications of the current far-right strategy, their insidious onslaught against the democracy too many are taking for granted until it’s too late. I see more and more parallels to the rise of Hitler, with a complacent population that doesn’t wake up until it’s too dangerous to speak out.

Your point about the fascists' strategy is quite salient. They are suppressing the will of the majority just as they always have. Supported by cadres of bumpkin gun-toting racists spewing Bible verses and hypocrisy as usual.

Thank you for laying this all out. Yikes! It’s a lot to take in and I may have to read and reread it. I’m not as swift as I used to be, but I believe I’m not among 99% of the gullible public who like their info in sound bites.

Why even have a Constitution? Civil Rights will be next on the chopping block, I predict.

I guess any hope that the Supremes might be able to hold the tune to a meta ( not FB)-narrative, in terms of the law, is naive now....they are becoming part of the deconstruction team dismantl)ing democracy!!!
