I agree. For months I have been cheered to think that the our younger voters would turn out and get behind Dark Brandon....but I have been reading comments by people who are in touch with these enclaves of younger, 'lefter' folk and it seems that many feel as though they should refuse to vote, feeling that Biden shouldn't have hugged Netanyahu or even gotten involved.
Such black and white tunnel vision is not useful. We need their votes to put us over the top and repudiate Trump so throughly that he cannot pretend--even to himself--that he won.

They’re figuring how they’re going to get their wish list started when trying to pass the new budget. Reduced social security and Medicare, a national abortion ban, raise the voting age, increase taxes... I hope we make it to the next election.

It sounds and reads like Lord of the Flies comes to Congress. The sacrifices have already begun, it remains to be seen how long it will be until someone can't stand it any more and makes a Motion to Vacate. If I were Mikey, I'd make a Rules change the first order of business.
I am sickened by the pug's (unanimous -- REALLY?!) choice of one of the most dedicated MAGA in Congress for Speaker. I was praying for Emmer, the ONLY sane person running for the office. I still don't understand why he dropped out. Wasn't he voted to run by the pugs? The Dems would DEFINITELY have supported him, with only a half-dozen pug votes to make him Speaker.
On one of the substacks I read, a member (am I allowed to call us that?) wrote that they believe Emmer must have received death threats, given how rapidly and completely he backed down.
I suspect their plan is to pass all the right wing's favorite dung in the sky legislation and will use the Senate defeats and/or Biden vetoes to show the magas why they must re-elect 45 and a majority Senate. Watch for it. The risk is that they will be revealing their hugely unpopular dung. Keep your air freshener handy.
The MAGAs in my life and family, or the ones that insert themselves online, will not get their five minutes with me. I'm done with that. They may see some reflection of the mess they made when it shows up on someplace other than where they regularly feed and that might mean something.
